Built in 1902 and retaining many of its original architectural features, The Gables is renowned as one of Melbourne's finest venues for weddings and private functions. Boasting with traditionally decorated rooms with crystal chandeliers, a lead light conservatory, parquetry floorings, sixteen foot ceilings, a sweeping staircase and open fireplaces.
The Gables is centrally located in a beautiful grandeur Victorian Estate on a tree-lined street to provide you with the perfect atmosphere to celebrate your most memorable day or event. A generous verandah overlooking the magnificent gardens,makes this a delightful place for your guests to enjoy pre-dinner drinks and canapes. Nestled amongst the trees, is a gazebo covered in climbing roses; the perfect setting for a garden ceremony. With exclusive use of the house, garden and off street parking, we host only one wedding at a time. Catering for up to 120 guests seated or 250 guests in cocktail-style.

This Is the most beautiful venue, looking at it online does not do it justice. Do yourself a favour and visit in person. We had seen it online and were interested but still looking at other venues... that is, until we visited in person. The beauty and charm, the staff are fantastic, so kind and informative. We mostly dealt with Philippa who was absolutely fantastic, but also met Jessica (owner) and Joy who were also wonderful.
We have had so many comments on the venue, food and service. The food was sooo much better than we ever expected; quality you would expect in a fine dining restaurant. We could not fault our experience with the gables. Value for money was exceptional and we want to do it all over again!!! Huge thanks to Phil and team who were so kind and helpful through the entire process! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making our wedding so beautiful and memorable.

They were very organised and very friendly. We had all the catering include, the food was excellent and the service was also pretty good! They did the decor as well, which was great and definitely took some stress off!
The Gables Malvern is a great wedding venue. Aside from the reception we also had our ceremony in the garden on site. The venue itself was beautiful and felt we didn't need to decorate it as much.
Sue was our wedding coordinator and was fantastic. Right from meeting her we felt comfortable and knew we were in good hands.
There was a variety of food options but also catered to allergies/intolerance's and the food we chose was delicious .
Sue was helpful in coordinating with the suppliers and their requirements (ie. wedding band set-up, videographer/photographer equipment storage).

We were delighted with the presentation of The Gables, it was the perfect setting to celebrate. There were a few minor issues in planning and on the day, but a good time was had by all guests. Note: The Venue is too small for bridal table of more than 10.
I would highly recommend The Gables as it has all the beautiful natural elements of the garden, traditional elegance with a modern touch to the cuisine. Compliments Sue, to the chef & all those who worked on the food preparation. Any special dietary requirements were incorporated smoothly for the guest.
We had a fantastic day. We ended up with an inside ceremony and reception (it rained) and it was perfect - the windows are stunning, the details on the walls. It also contained the 30 kids who came to the wedding - who had a great time flitting between a couple of rooms.
The food was good, Sue who looked after us on the day had everything running smoothly.
