QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

Can we remove items from your package?

We are confident we’ve put a great team together, however we understand you may have your own contacts you would like to have involved in your wedding day (eg. you may have a makeup artist or a celebrant you love and just have to use, or a friend who wants to help you out). If that’s the case, let us know and we will provide you with a quote that factors this in.

Do you allow BYO food and drinks?

Yes, we do. We do have an amazing in-house caterer but you are free to bring your own if you wish at no extra cost. You can bring just your own food or just your own drinks or both. It’s up to you.

Does the package go up in price if I have more than 80 guests?

Our base wedding package is built for 80 guests. For numbers above 80 there may be a slight increase in cost for some items like printing of extra invitations, additional cake, floral arrangements for the tables and supplying additional guest favours, but we will keep these as minimal as we can.

What is your curfew?

Our curfew on Fri / Sat is midnight. So, this means we’d call last drinks at 10.45pm for an 11pm close of drinks. This then gives us an hour to slowly wrap up and get guests thinking about leaving. Music would also need to wind down at 11pm.

Does the venue have heating / cooling?

Yes, we have both!

Are kids included in the guest total?

Good question! Children really only affect the food and beverage costings and I’ll explain the options:

Children between 0-3 (who would not need a place setting at a table or need a meal) are free.

Children between 3-17 (who would have a seat at a dining table and a meal but no alcohol) are discounted 50%.

With the alcohol part of the food deal, is it an unlimited amount of what’s on the list for the 5 hours? Or is there a cap?

There is no cap, each person is charged per head to drink as much as they like (within reason of course! I know I’ve been the drunk one at a wedding before! haha). But essentially, there is no cap on that 5 hours. If you’d like to extend the service time by another hour or two, we can have that costed up for you as well. It’s typically $12pp per additional hour of service.

Is there a videographer you recommend if we wanted one?

We can recommend a few videographers. If you have a budget in mind please let us know. Videographer’s prices range from $1,800-$5,000, so I’d like to suggest options that would be best suited.

Does the DJ just play chilled music too?

We work with a team of DJs and take you through a questionnaire and then, based on what you like / don’t like, we assign a DJ that matches your profile. So you let us know what you’re looking for and we’ll find someone perfect for you!

Who is the cake vendor you work with and do you have an approximate cost for a cake for around 150 guests?

We work with a couple of vendors, one of which is the super talented Torte by Mirjana. We have a $330 allocation in the budget for a naked two tier cake designed for 80 guests. Of course, with 150 guests, we’d need to ramp up the cake size for sure which means we’d be looking at doubling this. But it also comes down to the style of the cake you’d like on your day. We will source costings for you and present them and it’s up to you to decide how subtle or decadent you’d like to go with cake. Let me know if you see things you like in her gallery and I can start getting some pricing together for you. For 150 guests I would say to expect to pay in the region of $300-$600 extra depending on the cake you choose.

Can you please confirm what the accommodation and transportation cost generally cover?

We have a partnership with a number of accommodation providers in Melbourne and they offer our couples a 10% discount on their rooms. We have a $220 allocation of budget towards accommodation and we can help you organise and use that budget however you like! Some couples opt for two night instead of one so they can get ready in the hotel and stay there the night of the wedding. Some couples choose to minus off the $220 rent a big airbnb for family and choose to allocate their accomm budget to another area of their wedding day.

With transport, we have a $770 budget and that gets you an 11 seater limousine for a 3 hour duration. Again, it’s up to you if you’d like to use the limo for longer... or if you’d like a different car altogether. We’re partner with a transport company in Melbourne that has an entire fleet to choose from! It’s up to you if you want to spend more or less in this area. We typically run through these details in person and work out what works best for your wedding day based on the run sheet and your preference.

With the stationary and guest favours is there an item list with prices that we select from or how does it work?

We have a $440 allocation for stationery and that covers all invitations plus envelopes, seating charts, welcome signs, menus and thank you cards. Again, that’s for 80 guests so your budget would need to be increased in this area if you have more. We have some couples who have ordered super deluxe letterpress invitations. After quoting that up they simply paid the difference on top of our $440 budget allocation. It’s really about how best you want to use the allocated budget dependent on what’s important to you!

We have a huge list of favours we go through with our clients. Again, we have a $330 allocation on favours and that’s designed for 80 guests. So that works out at $3.75 per favour. We get over a 30% discount on our favours and we pass that cost savings straight onto you. Up to you how extravagant you want to go on favours. Or, if you’re not keen on them, you can use the favour budget somewhere else on your wedding!

Is it possible to do a menu tasting with your recommended caterer before we book?

Yes, absolutely. Our recommended caterer is Refresh Hospitality. It will cost $200 for up to two people to have their own private tasting. If you decide to book our caterer, then that $200 will be absorbed by your booking so you wouldn’t pay extra for it. Refresh have been around for quite a while but they haven’t been outward facing so they are not as well known. They actually do all the catering for Two Ton Max in North Melbourne and have their own venue in Elsternwick too. Their food is fantastic! They’ll be branching out into more venues this year so you’ll likely start hearing their name more.

If we book in the date and pay the deposit at what time do we have to make a final call about what is in or out of the base package?

You are welcome to change any details at any time. We work out a close approximate cost of your wedding, minus the deposit and then divide by the number of months until your wedding day and we then do monthly payments. We will share a budget with you so we can track the spend at all times and as you add / change / remove items from your wedding, we’ll adjust the budget accordingly. The monthly payments won’t change, we simply adjust your final payment two weeks prior to your wedding. If you’ve removed more things, you might be paid up early, if you decide to have a gelati cart and hanging floral gardens at the last minute, then that final payment may be a bit bigger.

Are there any clean up requirements / costs or is that all sorted by you guys?

No clean up costs, removal costs or bump outs here at Nudo! That’s all for us to worry about!

Do you have noise restrictions at the venue?

We have a 95db limit on sound at the venue which is more than enough to have a great party but not so loud as to wake the dead! Most bands operate around 85db and DJs are less.
