An Argentinian man has found himself in hot water after leaving his wife behind at a service station, driving off – and not realising his mistake for 100kms.
Yep, we couldn’t make this up, folks.
The offending husband, known only as Walter, was driving home with his wife and son during a family holiday to Brazil.
They stopped at a service station in the Brazillian town of Passo Fundo to fill up on petrol and have a quick toilet break.
However, while Walter was in the bathroom, his wife Claudia, who had, all along, been sleeping in the back seat of the car, awoke and entered the service station to buy a snack.
At that same time, Walter returned from his toilet break and drove off – leaving his wife at the petrol pump. However, he didn’t check that she was in the car before doing so and failed to notice she was missing for about 100kms.
Worse still, poor mobile phone reception meant Claudia couldn’t contact Walter to alert him to her whereabouts.
And, though staff at the service station allowed Claudia to call her husband from their landline phone, he was already at least two hours away and she was then forced to wait at the local police station until he arrived.
Needless to say, Claudia was less than impressed when Walter finally showed up and, as a local officer told Britain’s Telegraph, “She was very angry. She was moaning at him for taking so long to realise.
There was no physical assault, but she was more upset when I saw the husband.”
