A cheeky British groom has pulled off a morning-of-the-wedding photoshoot with a difference: he ditched his bride in favour of his best man – and the results are priceless.
Groom John Taylor celebrated his bromance with bestie Andy Pemberton by replacing his beloved bride Lisa in a series of comical photos that include shots of the two in bathtubs watching TV, sharing an intimate morning cuppa (while still in their bathrobes) and, of course, the mandatory shot of the pair spooning in bed.
And it was all with the bride’s blessings.
How many wedding cars will you book for your wedding day?
“I think my wife knows that he comes as part of the package,” the Newcastle groom joked to Buzzfeed about his best mate, whom he met in 2003.
On the day of the wedding, September 25, 2015, local Newcastle wedding photographer Katie Byram arrived at a suite at Hotel De Vin expecting to shoot a conventional series of photos of a groom and his best man getting ready for a wedding.
But John and Andy are anything but conventional and, what they had in mind was to celebrate their shared quirky sense of humour – and their 12 years of friendship – in their typical tongue-in-cheek style.
The lively duo greeted an unsuspecting Katie wearing matching bath robes – and proceeded to lead her through a series of comical poses highlighting their bromance.
“The whole shoot was led by them.”Katie told the Huffington Post.
“I normally take photographs of guys putting on their ties and buttonholes but they wanted something a lot less traditional and a lot more fun.
“We were roaring with laughter through much of it.”
And what did the bride think of the shoot?
“She totally gets the bromance and loved the photos when she saw them!” John adds.
“Some of the photos were even included in the wedding album!”
