Help with my wedding music
Am really stuck for wedding music re cutting cake, bridal waltz etc
Mr Boutique Entertainment
Hey there - we've made a playlist of our favourite bridal waltz tunes: mrboutique.com.au/15-favourite-first-dance-songs
In terms of cutting the cake, it's often such a quick exercise that it might not require a specific song. Perhaps a break in a band set to cut the cake, and once done, the band can continue?

Hiiii! I really want a dj while my partner wants a band. is there a way to do both?
WITHOUT breaking the budget though..
Mr Boutique Entertainment
Of course you can! We do quite a lot of these and they work really well. And a win-win way to start the marriage off with compromise both ways ;)
Hiring a live band and a DJ for your reception gives you the best of both worlds: the type of atmosphere that only a live band can create, and then the full impact of a DJ playing the latest dancefloor tracks later in the evening.
The greatest cost involved in hiring a band is the musician fees, so seeing as you're actually hiring the musicians for less time, and one DJ in their place later on, it's not as expensive as you'd think to have both kinds of music.
Feel free to drop us a link for some ideas of pricing - it all depends on how many sets you'd like the band for, then how many hours the DJ is required. Cheers!

Hi Caroline,
I'd go against the grain here and not make any suggestions for you. Instead, I'd ask you: what songs do you love?
Weddings have changed so much that we now all expect to put ourselves into the ceremony. We choose a celebrant to reflect ourselves, we write our own vows, we choose the location, the dress and suit, the flowers ... So, why should the music be any different?
Is there a song you both love? Something that makes you both remember a certain period of time together? Something you've both just discovered and could become your song? (It certainly will after you include it in your ceremony!) If you've hired great musicians, they'll be able to perform your choice live for you in an intimate and moving way. It won't sound exactly like the original recording, but that's a good thing because you are unique and the day is unique.
For the rest of the ceremony: let your favourites dictate the music. There's absolutely no reason why you shouldn't!
Cheers,
Tom
