This will depend entirely upon the day you have planned and the amount of time we are there snapping away. Always remember that the idea is quality not quantity and we will always look to provide as much variety as possible rather than simply capture variations of the same backdrop. In short though there is no set amount/limit, we capture as many photographs as is required to tell the whole story.

Yes, you receive fully prepared, retouched and genuine high resolution 300dpi JPEGs on USB. Just as important there is no copyright logo placed over any image.

Absolutely, among other insurance policies we have public liability insurance for ten-million dollars.

Yes, just let us know what you are looking for and that is exactly what we will do.

Unless special requests are made the turnaround time on your fully perfected and genuine high resolution JPEGs provided on USB is four weeks.

Simply complete the booking form and pay the deposit and we can take care of the rest.

Including your first studio visit as well as a face-to-face chat in the lead up to the wedding day (not to mention anything else you might need our help with) in our experience two-hours plus but there is no set or ‘X-amount of time’ really, come past the studio for a coffee and a chat and we will spend as much time chatting things through as you need.

Certainly do, please visit our website for more details.

We couldn’t be happier with our wedding photos from DC Images. Dale was professional and also had a keen eye for capturing candid moments. Each photo tells a story, and we're so grateful for the memories preserved for us. Dale's passion and expertise shine through in every shot. Easy to communicate with up until the day, provided advice on getting the most out of the light at different times of the day. Couldn't recommend anyone more!

Dale was an absolute delight to have at our wedding. The pre-wedding chats were great to get a feel for what kind of shots were important to us, and, even more importantly, he took that feedback to heart when taking photos on the day. We have so so so many beautiful photos of us, the wedding party, and our guests laughing and having an amazing time. He has a great eye for interesting backdrops, even in places you wouldn’t think would be a typical wedding photo spot. There were at one point three other couples having photos done at the Opera House on the day and I’m still pretty sure our photos are the best.

Ha, I'm pretty sure we got the best ones too Karen! Thanks so much for the kind feedback. Your wedding was awesome to be a part of and capture, and genuine and unique day that was so you and Andy and so much fun to point the camera at. I cannot wait to start putting together your wedding albums! It's gonna be good!

There are few words in this world that could express how incredibly talented Dale from DC Images is. From the very moment we met him, we knew we HAD to have him capture our special day. He is kind, patient, funny and comforting - there is nobody we would rather have had behind the lens on our wedding day. I cannot express enough how much EVERYONE needs some Dale in their life - if you're on the fence about your photographer - jump off now!!! You've found him.

Wow! To anyone reading that, I promise we didn't write that ourselves. Thanks so, so much Kirsty. As I've said to you already, we drove off on the night of your wedding saying words to the effect "that's why we do it" and "we want to do that all again tomorrow!" It was such an amazing time, you have an awesome bunch of family and friends there. Thank you (times infinity) for making what we do so much fun and something that we never ever want to stop doing! You guys are awesome!!!

Is it normal to pay photographers in full before the actual wedding day?

Just wondering if it is standard practice to pay vendors in full for services such as photography prior to the actual wedding day?

      DC Images

I assisted wedding photographers in the early 90s and even back then couples paying upfront was standard practice, if for no other reason than it ensures all post-production is completed expertly and promptly. Since photographing my first wedding in 1996 and covering 700+ since it has always been my practice. Another reason is becuase all costs are incurred by the studio prior to a couple collecting their photographs, albums and artworks, and over twenty-five years (believe it or not) I have had dozens of couples not collect their albums, prints and artworks and had they not been paid for upfront; we would be out of pocket by tens of thousands of dollars.

Hope that helps provide a little clarification. The practice is nothing sinister, it is simply a case of making sure the money is there for a studio pay the costs of expert and prompt post-production (not to mention albums and artworks etc) whilst loved-up couples are off enjoying married life and fabulous honeymoons.

      Cheers, Dale

Will cold weather effect my wedding photos?

my date is set for the middle of winter. i'm not talking about rain or wet weather here, i'm talking about bitterly cold weather! will it effect my photos if we pose outdoors? like will my skin be all goosebumpy and ruin the photos, and does a cold expression come across on wedding photography??

      DC Images

In short yes but as always rain, hail or shine the trick is to get a couple/bridal party etc having as much fun as possible and then a lot of these concerns tend to take care of themselves. A warm wrap is a given and when I've photographed weddings in the snow before (ie: New Zealand, Thredo) Bel for example had a gorgeous white jacket with a wool lining and collar, it looked unreal and I'm told was super warm - most brides also changed their glamourous high heels for warmer shoes (even boots or gumboots) when we wandered around the snow for the pictorial shoot (remembering the boots/gumboots were hidden under the dress or shown off with great delight). Other tips:

      1. simply standing on the down wind/sheltered side of a building will avoid a lot of the chill
      2. I would encourage you to stagger your time/images outside by ducking out for 10-20 minutes here and there (ie: not being outside for an hour or more in one go and warming up inside before you do head out)
      3. cuddle your husband/bride even more
      4. any photographer who knows what they are doing will control the light so no one should look blue
      5. re goose bumps they never appear straight away I've found so I would start with the closer portraits first then if goose bumps do appear maybe look at capturing the more distant images, ie: panoramics, silhouettes etc
      6. lastly most if not all wedding venues are just as pretty inside as they are outside so when it gets too cold for you snap some photos using a stunning natural window light for example

Hope that helps. Remember rain, hail or shine there are amazing images to be had no matters what the conditions and/or location.

All the best, Dale & the DC Images team
