FAQ
I will organise all the legal paper work for you, including sumitting it to the Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages. The first document that needs to be completed is the Notice of Intended Marriage. This must be signed, witnessed and in my pocession at least one month before the ceremony can take place.
Yes. I always use my PA system to ensure everyone can hear your ceremony. I also bring an assistant who will play all the music, adjust volumes and turn microphones on and off so that I am free to concentrate on delivering your ceremony without interruption. My microphone is a small discrete lapel mic so I am not holding a big chunky one in front of my face. Your photos will look a lot better!
Yes. I can bring a table with a white linen table cloth as well as two chairs to use for signing all the certificates.
Absolutely! Children can be included as a Flower Girl/Page Boy, Ring Bearer, or if old enough, they can read a poem or walk the bride down the aisle. They can also take part in symbolic ceremonies such as The Rose Petal Ceremony or be included in a Blended Family Ceremony. Animals are also welcome to be part of the ceremony (just make sure it’s OK with the venue). For example, the rings can be tied to your dogs collar or the bride can ride in on a horse. It’s a great spectacle!
Yes. I provide a 150 page resource book containing wording options for all components of the ceremony. You are free to choose alternatives from this or use it as inspiration to write you own wording. eg: Your Vows. I will also write your own personalised ceremony, according to your wishes and ideas.
I always encourage couples to have a rehearsal as this ensures everyone knows what they have to do and where they have to go. This takes the stress out of the day and ensures your ceremony runs smoothly and professionally. If it is not possible to have a rehearsal at the venue I am happy to meet the bridal party somewhere else to run through the proceedings.

Get Expert AdviceOur celebrant gave us a brochure called "happily ever before and after"?
They explained why which is fine, but this brochure is really terrible haha, why is this still a thing?!
Help! I need vows help, I honestly have no idea what to say! I love her. What else should I say?
I asked my friends and they said it'd come to me. It hasn't. I am freaking out!!!

1.
Make a list of all the positive and special qualities about your
partner. These can be individual words or phrases. Eg. Jane supports me in all
my wild ideas.
2.
Using this list of qualities, write them in complete sentences – you
might call upon some of the words on your list from number 2 above to help make
it sound fluent. If you find this
difficult, don’t worry about grammar and sentence structure, your celebrant can
help you with this.
3.
Read it to yourself. Does it
sum up how you feel about your partner ?
Does it explain why you want to be with
this person for
the rest of your life ?
Does it
show your passion and desire for your partner ?
Is it passionate and meaningful ?
4.
Congratulations you have written your vows !
Are there any affordable celebrants out there for a simple ceremony?
Hi, I'm looking for a celebrant to perform a simple (yet still professional) wedding ceremony. I don't want all the usual song and dance or long storytelling - just a simple, sweet and short ceremony. And a streamlined process in the lead up with whatever legalities are required; no coaching, or coffee catch ups as I'm just not that kind of bride. Are there any celebrants out there that do this and are affordable? (Needs to be under $500) Thanks for your suggestions :)
Jan Mason
Hi Alessia, Any celebrant should be willing to create and perform the type of ceremony you desire, regardless of what they personally think. After all, it's your wedding - not theirs. In the no obligation meeting that I provide for couples I like to show them all the options available, as it would be regretful if there was something they would like to include but weren't aware of. After that however, it's up to them to decide what they want and don't want. (apart from the legal requirements of course). As you have stated, you don't want a personal story, so one meeting would be sufficient to organise everything. After that we can communicate via email or text. I live in Taylors Lakes and depending on where the ceremony will take place my fee would definitely be under $500. Regardless of what I charge couples, the ceremony is always delivered in a professional and friendly manner. Please have a look at my profile so you can get a feel for who I am. Good luck in the planning for your day. Regards, Jan.

The Attorney General's department, which registers and control celebrants insists that all celebrants give this to couples. There is a tick box on the Notice of Intended Marriage document where we have to indicate that it has been provided to the couple. It could have some info that may be helpful to you eg. making a will and changing your name if you wish to do so. Hope this helps. Jan Mason (Registered Celebrant)
