Corinne and Nick break tradition for elegant country wedding

Breaking a tradition that many consider outdated anyway, Nicholas Comeadow took on his wife’s surname, that of Corinne Wilkins.

“We’re not particularly traditional or conventional, so when I decided that I wanted to keep my surname, Nick decided to change his and take my name instead,” says the bride. Nick and Corinne, aged 27 and 34 respectively, married at their elegant country wedding on November 19, 2016 with 120 guests.

A ceremony at The Covent Gardens was followed by a reception at Broken Hill Civic Centre. After getting ready, the couple had a “first-look”. “We had a private moment, where Nick came to my location to see me for the first time,” explains Corinne. “He stood facing mum while she described how I looked without giving too much away, he then got to turn around and see me, while our photographer captured his response, and our first moment together without the crowd, just us.”

Their reception area was stunningly decorated with crystal candelabras, crystal vases with flowers, crystal place card holders and rose gold sequin table runners. Less elegant perhaps, was their photo time. “Our photoshoot felt like bridal boot camp,” laughs the bride. “We trekked through a creek, climbed a rocky dirt hill and danced on the steps of a rundown building.”

“Nick stayed by my side during the loss of my beloved grandma… it was then that we realised life is too short to waste,” reflects Corinne.

Corinne’s flattering mermaid lace gown was the perfect silhouette for her gorgeous figure.

“It seemed that all our friends and family knew we were meant to be together, we were just the last ones to figure it out,” Corinne says of their relationship.
