I'm a singer-songwriter from the Gold Coast. I'm married and just got a puppy called Hendrix who is a bundle of fun! I love playing weddings; it's always such an honour to be the vibe-setter for couple's special day. I like to be adaptable to suit your taste but I'm naturally the pop/folk/country sound. Anything from Angus & Julia Stone, Ziggy Alberts, Jack Johnson & Ed Sheeran to Luke Combs, Brett Eldredge and Chris Stapleton.

FAQ

Yes! If I'm given at least a months notice before the wedding, I'm more than happy to learn songs for your special moments.

If I can drive there the morning of the wedding and you're willing to pay a little extra for the travel cost, absolutely. The issues with traveling further is that I have a lot of equipment I bring and if the destination requires a plane flight, I would need to hire equipment at the destination, have accomodation supplied and be earning enough to afford potentially missing out on taking a wedding gig the day before and after.

I will be honest with you, I prefer not to. I am an awkward public speaker and find it tricky to be stuck at my spot performing live and also liaising with the coordinator on the day to ensure timing is as planned. I find most celebrants offer it as an additional service and do a fantastic job at it.

We couldn’t have asked for a better musician for our wedding! From start to finish, everything was absolutely perfect. The acoustic set during our ceremony and cocktail hour created such a beautiful, relaxed atmosphere — so many of our guests commented on how amazing it sounded. Then, when it was time to switch into DJ mode for the reception, the energy completely lifted. The dance floor was full all night, and every song choice felt spot on. They read the crowd perfectly and kept the vibe going without missing a beat. Not only incredibly talented, but also professional, easy to communicate with, and genuinely invested in making our day special. We would highly recommend booking the whole package with Kent and well in advance as he is very popular. From the moment we first made contact with him up until the end of the wedding evening – he was professional, charismatic and delivered a premium service. Our guests complimented his amazing singing voice, the positive energy he brought to his emcee duties and his ability to ‘read the room’ so there were people on the dancefloor the whole night. From the moment we met Kent at the Brisbane Wedding Expo, we knew he was someone we wanted to be part of our day. He was friendly, approachable and genuinely interested in getting to know us and the kind of wedding we wanted to create. One of the things we appreciated most was that Kent didn't just ask us for a playlist—he took the time to understand the feeling we wanted our wedding to have. We described the vibe more than the songs themselves, and somehow, he completely understood. The result was a soundtrack that felt so authentically us. From acoustic versions of artists we love, to seamlessly blending songs between moments, every transition felt effortless and every song felt like it belonged exactly where it was. Kent learnt my aisle song (Nothing Else Matters - Metallica) especially for our ceremony, played one of his original songs during our certificate signing, and even timed the beginning of our first dance song perfectly by watching us rather than following a schedule. Those little moments made such a difference and are memories we'll treasure forever. Our guests couldn't stop talking about how incredible he was. So many people commented that he was the perfect fit for our cocktail-style wedding, and more than one person joked that he should have been handing out business cards and selling merch! Kent was absolutely incredible as our wedding musician and highly recommend! He was so kind and helpful in the lead up to our wedding - nothing was too much trouble and knew the venue well so it meant we didn't have to worry about anything. He took initiative and ended up playing some live versions of songs we said we liked - such a thoughtful and nice surprise! So many of our guests said it was the best wedding musician they had ever heard and then he turned it up another level when he switched to DJ. He kept the vibe high and continuously read the room and managed to cater to all ages. Our wedding would not have been the incredible day it was without Kent, simple as that. Help I can't choose between live band or a dj which is best

Very little can compare to a live band! The energy they bring, the adapability they can have, the raw live talent and crowd work, is all unparalled. However, there are restrictions to the amount of songs they can play as they obvioulsy need to know how to play them, and the biggest issue is often the budget needed. An "open format" DJ is going to be much cheaper than a great band and be able to play/mix any genre in to keep the floor going. Another thing is that a DJ can fit into any venue quite easily, whereas a band just practically needs more space. If money isn't an issue and venue space isn't an issue and you want a band, ask them for a setlist and see that you like the type of music they know before booking them and you won't regret it.
