FAQ

Can I provide my own music for the DJ to play?

Yes, absolutely!

We have over 60,000 tracks in our music database covering all popular genres, from the 40's to current Top 40 and everything in between.

You have the choice of selecitng as much or as little music from our database as you like - otherwise leave it to us and we'll read the crowd and ensure all their favourites are played.

Do you offer MC (Master of Ceremonies) services?

We sure do offer MC services. A number of our DJs are also professionally trained MC's and can perform this function on the night (in addition to DJ services). Please just let us know when you enquire, and we can quote accordingly.

How much experience will my DJ have?

All our DJs have a minimum of 5 years experience in the industry and some boast up to 10 and 15 years experience. You can rest assured that our DJs are professional and have a lot of experience DJ'ing for weddings.

Russell and the team at Impression DJs were fantastic to work with. I had many great chats with Russell about the music playlists for our wedding at Long Reef Golf Club, and the vision for bridal party entrances and coordinating the reception and dance floor. Russell was always extremely professional, and his easy-going nature fit in perfectly with the vibe of our wedding, happily taking requests from guests and even adding in a song for my 1 year old niece to have a dance to. He worked well with my sister who was MCing, fading the music in and out with perfect musical sensibilities for speaking to be happening over the top. My only regret is not spending enough time dancing! We needed to do the rounds to greet guests, but they were having the time of their lives dancing and chilling on the terrace, taking in the view with an epic soundtrack enhancing the experience. Impression DJs are highly recommended. It was an absolute pleasure discussing music playlists in the lead up the wedding, and a privilege to have Russell there on the day in control of the dancefloor.

From start to finish Impressions Djs were amazing. The whole booking process and getting all the songs together was very easy and very smooth. We really appreciated that when it came to think of what particular songs and vibe we wanted we had a long list of example songs supplied to us from Impressions to help pick through what we wanted from the cake cutting song to entrance songs! We also really appreciated that at the end of the night we were presented with a custom cd that had all our main songs on it, that was really special for us to remember our wedding.

Russell from Impression DJs was an absolute pleasure to work with. My Wife and I felt well informed throughout the process and the execution as DJ/MC on our wedding day was flawless. We had the pleasure of having Drew as our wedding DJ. Frankly, we were unsure of having a DJ on wedding day because we were afraid that they would not meet our expectations and eventually we would be wasting our money. However, Drew was a star that day and we couldn't ask for more. Music quality was superb and the way he curated the playlist was just perfect. He gave honest opinions during our consultation (choosing which music to play during dance time) and it really helped clear our minds. We would definitely recommend Impression DJ if anyone is hesitant about getting a DJ for your big night!

is it wrong to play sad songs at weddings? or songs about break ups

some of my favourite songs are about break ups!

Impression DJs

It depends what part of the night you are referring to, if it is just for general music like dinner or dancing then it doesn't matter however for your important songs like your Bridal Dance or Walking Down the Aisle then we find that the words and feeling do matter. Normally we only listen to melodies until we get married then we look closer at the words of a song.

how do i start the dancing at my wedding if im not having a first dance?

It depends if you want a slow dance or not, either way it's best for your MC to invite all the guests to join you both on the dance floor for the first song, that way you will have a full dance floor from the start. You can then pick either a slow dance song or an upbeat track but if you pick something upbeat i suggest you pick something that is accessable to all the guests young and older.
