OVERVIEW

Romantic, fun, quirky, elaborate, casual, formal or any combination of these - I will officiate your ceremony so it's everything you dreamed it would be.

Your wedding day is the day you both declare your love for each other, whether that be in front of a large group of family and friends or a small intimate circle of close loved ones, and the ceremony should reflect your personality as a couple. I am committed to tailoring your ceremony to be as original as you are, taking the time to get to know both Bride and Groom before the big day; the most important thing is ensuring that your dream day is flawless and everything you hoped it would be!

Wedding Ceremony Package

  • Customised Ceremony
  • Lodgement of Notice of Intended Marriage
  • 2 x Pre-ceremony meetings
  • 1 x Ceremony Rehearsal
  • 1 x Ceremony (of course)

  • Your wedding, your way

I am focused on making sure your wedding runs smoothly while you enjoy it. Many of my past clients have spent weeks, months and sometimes years planning their wedding, and once they have me on their team, they have been able to sit back and enjoy it, knowing their ceremony is in good hands.

I welcome diverse and multi-cultural weddings, having previously coordinated Irish, Sri Lankan, Middle Eastern and European events.

I look forward to being your celebrant on your dream day.

Scott and Kiera provided an amazing personalised ceremony. We were so comfortable with them and felt like we were with old friends. Our ceremony was so much fun and we received lots of compliments on how much it was enjoyed.

What makes original wedding vows really stand out, in your opinion?

Scott Phillips Celebrant - Master of Ceremonies Sydney

The wedding vows that stand out are the ones that you can just tell are really genuine and heartfelt. They don’t have to be funny or clever to stand out, they just need to be real.

My couples fill in a vow questionnaire form, answering questions about their relationship, their partner, and what their partner does that inspires them, which my partner uses to create vows for the couple using their own words, or if they want to write their own, they email them to me separately so I can let them know if they are too long or short, especially when taking into consideration their partner's vows as well.

I've found that the vows which have the most impact start as a dedication to your fiancé, describing all the things you love about them, the way they have changed your life, and then finishing with a few sweet promises which are important to you, things that you either know you can keep, or things you want to promise you will do better at for your relationship. This is usually around two paragraphs all up, which is only a few minutes.

How long should my vows be?

Scott Phillips Celebrant - Master of Ceremonies Sydney

As Mitch said, there's no absolute rule for how long your vows should be, but if you work closely with your celebrant and take into account how long you want your entire ceremony to run (some brides and grooms have limited time due to the venue, or how long they have for photos between the ceremony and the reception), your celebrant should be able to give you a good indication of how long you have for your vows. My couples fill in a vow questionnaire form, which my partner uses to create vows for the couple using their own words, or if they want to write their own, they email them to me separately so I can let them know if they are too long or short, especially when taking into consideration their partner's vows as well.

In my experience not many brides do a speech at the reception (though I always encourage them to do so, if they want to), so you may not get the opportunity to share what you want to say at a later time.

Can I get married in a church if Im not religious?

Im worried about the weather so Im looking for an indoor ceremony venue. Theres a church right next door to my mum's house so I thought I might have it there. But Im not religious. Can I have a civil ceremony in a church??

Scott Phillips Celebrant - Master of Ceremonies Sydney

Hi Annabel,

As you can see from the other response the answer is grey and depends on the church in question. My advise would be to approach the church you are looking at and see what options they can offer.

If you have any other questions please let us know.

Cheers,

Scott
