Karen was absolutely fantastic, we were honoured to have her as our celebrant on our wedding day! She was always on top of things and organised which meant that was one less thing we had to worry about. Our ceremony was personalised, lighthearted and warm which was exactly what we were hoping for. Karen listened to our requests and made sure they were met. It was a pleasure to work with Karen and a joy to get to know her throughout the process. Thanks again!

From our first meeting with Karen she made us feel at ease and relaxed. She took the time to get to know us as a couple and as individuals. Karen was a great support through the whole planning process and made sure our ceremony was everything we wanted it to be. On our wedding day Karen's calm and professional manner made sure everything went off without a problem. Even assisting us to receive our marriage license and creating a keepsake booklet with our ceremony inside that has made us smile and get emotional as if it were our wedding day all over again. Karen exceeded our expectations at every point and we would highly recommend her as a celebrant.

I met Karen her through a mutual friend which was perfect timing as we were in search of a celebrant. I spent the night dancing with Karen and we got on like friends from the start so it didn't feel as though she was a stranger that just turned up on the day. Karen took the time to meet with us and get to know our story to make it personal to us. The ceremony was very moving and funny. Everything was perfect, we could not have asked for a better celebrant. I class her as a friend.

If a Couple Doesn't Kiss at Their Wedding, What Else Can They Do?

I am extremely phobic of being touched, but at weddings the couple always kisses. Is it a requirement, or are there different things I can do? If so, what?

Kissing is not required - do what you are both comfortable with. You could simply embrace or share a flower/token or share a toast of champagne or join hands & turn to your guests and raise your arms in celebration. Enjoy your day!

can marriage celebrants perform religious ceremonies?

The wedding ceremony is the creation and formalising of marriage which is a legal union. Civil ceremonies can include some religious components if you wish, such as a reading from the Bible. However a celebrant cannot lead everyone in prayer. If you would like this included in your ceremony it is probably best to have your wedding in a church. It does not matter whether you choose a garden, backyard or church - as long as the person leading the service is authorised by law to perform weddings you are still married! is the ceremony the only part that HAS to happen for the marriage to be legal?

At least one month before the wedding day there is some more paperwork which has to be done. Your celebrant will guide you through and make this an easy process but on the day 'YES' the ceremony is the only thing which makes it a legal marriage. The ceremony reminds everyone that you have decided to spend the rest of your lives together. The reception is a chance to relax, celebrate and have fun with those family and friends important to you. Just remember to enjoy the moment!
