“The movie The Notebook could not compare to the dramas leading up to my wedding,” laughs bride Chriso, 26.
The Sydneysider married her 27-year-old beau Dimitrios on January 14, 2017 in the presence of 180 guests. “But against all odds we stayed together as one and our love was so strong it personified the most beautiful day imaginable.”
“As the planning began for our classic wedding l instantly knew I wanted my reception at Lauriston House, we used to drive past there as kids,” explains the bride. “I used to see all these beautiful brides roaming in the gardens. I knew our love was timeless, and I thought what a perfect reception to share our love.”
The the café owners were first wed at Belmore Greek orthodox Church before moving to the reception venue which was adorned high and low with flowers and luxurious trimmings. “Lauriston House provided 15 Swarovski crystal chandeliers scattered throughout the whole room, and lit over 300 candles in the space.”

“Dimitri’s suit was exquisite,” says Chriso of his three-piece tuxedo and bow tie from Ferrari Formal Wear, who also dressed the groomsmen.
Chriso’s maids were draped in Grecian-inspired gowns from Bluebell Bridal, with accessories – including a Grecian bronze crown for the bride – from Bridal Blue.
Silver Cloud Weddings provided the couple with official transport on the day, but the pair’s love of motorbikes also made an appearance!
Chriso let her hair down, literally, after the ceremony.
It was total glamour at the couple’s reception, which included floral arrangements at every turn thanks to Flowers by Zoe.
“My dress was a figure-hugging embroidered couture dress, it consisted of a two-metre train and cathedral length veil,” says the bride.
“Alan Khan was a dream to work with,” praises Chriso of their photographer. He got to know us on a personal level and made us feel very comfortable.”
