Public holidays and surcharges?

I'm planning a wedding and my mum thinks Australia day is a great day to get married. Wedding is Jan 2019. Australia day is Saturday and Saturday is a little expensive for my partners family. We were considering the Sunday 27th and the next Monday is the Australia day public holiday Is there any surcharges on Sundays or public holiday long weekends? We just don't want to be swamped in surcharges and have a super expensive wedding

Hi Daniela,

Thank you for your enquiry.

Our standard pricing applies for Sundays (which is slightly higher than a Saturday rate). For public holidays there will be an additional charge of 15% on top of the package you have selected.

Please get in touch if you have any additional questions or feel free to download our information pack & pricing.

Good afternoon Daniela,

Australia Day is a great idea! We don't charge any surcharges, regardless of the day. Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.

Many thanks,

Hi Daniela,

Most clubs or resorts will need to add a holiday surcharge to their fees due to staff holiday wages. Private property venues like our Riverside Ranch Retreat would most likely keep their rates the same. We offer a 3 night / 4 day venue and accommodation hire typically from Friday through Monday.

Hope this helps,

Chris

Hello,

We do have a 15% surcharge on all catering from Weddings booked on a Sunday or a Public Holiday. We have this to cover the increase in staff costs on these days, and it applies to the food costs only.

Kind regards,

Hi Daniela,

Whilst there is a surcharge for all events hosted on a public holiday, there is no additional fee for events hosted the day before a public holiday as long as they conclude by 11pm. If your wedding goes beyond 11pm there is a pre-public holiday surcharge of $6.50 per person.

Hosting your wedding the day before a public holiday is great way to save some money and also give your guests the chance to enjoy the long weekend with a wedding to celebrate!

Hi Daniela,

What a great question and idea.

Should you wish to have your event on the public holiday, the surchage would be 15%. However, should you wish to have it on the Sunday (which isn't the public holiday) there would be no additional surcharge.

We would love the opportuninity to discuss this with you further. Please kindly contact our Wedding and Events Specialist - Sara Fraser and she can personally assist with any queries.

Thank you.

Hi Daniela,

What a great idea and it gives everyone the chance to have a recovery day on the Monday :)

Our pricing doesn't generally change all those types of costs are factored into the package so that there are no hidden surprises and you can see what everything costs from the get go. On a Sunday night we can also look at giving an affordable accommodation rate as well.

Please contact me if you would like to get a proposal to give you a starting point of costs. Nothing is set in stone, we work to how you envision your day!

Thanks,

Ali

Hi Daniela, generally with Fri-Sun and public holidays they're all the same rates. If you get married on a public holiday itself there is also a 15% surcharge per item on accommodation, food and drinks to cover the wages in hospitality. If you're wanting to save money, perhaps a midweek option would be more suitable as most places do special midweek packages.
