Located in a beautifully secluded part of Sydney up on the headland, Milestone Events is a unique 1930s traditional Art Deco wedding venue nestled amongst the native flora and fauna of the Sydney Harbour National Park. Considered Sydney’s hidden wedding gem, inside you will find high ceilings, original wooden floors, and an art deco bar.

Milestone Events also boasts a heritage-listed grand ballroom and a more intimate, cosy cane lounge. We had our wedding reception at Milestone Events on the 1st of April. They were unbelievable. Throughout the process of planning all the way to execution - they were so easy to work with and nothing was too hard. They worked with all our vendors and really showed their expertise while making our wish of ‘one big family dinner’ a reality. Couldn’t be more grateful for Miles & Tess, and can’t recommend them highly enough. Special mention must be made for the food. Every guest told us, it was the best food they’ve ever had at a wedding.

How do I choose the right sized venue for 100 guests?

Do you have any tips on how to choose the right sized venue for this number of guests?

Milestone Events

You need a venue that can comfortably hold 100 guests and still have room for a dance floor. You don't want a venue that is too big where your guests will get lost and be too spread apart! As although its 100 guests you want that intimate feeling of being close but also somewhere to shake it on the dance floor.

When looking for a wedding venue, have an idea of what style of wedding you want, sit down, cocktail, indoor or outdoor as well of have a rough idea of the amount of people you are planning on inviting in your head, this will filter out the venues that don't suit your direct needs.

Also if you want a ceremony and reception at the one venue. Also think about what you style and theme you want then look for the venues that work within your budget and this will hopefully not leave you with too many options. Also remember the season, you want a venue that has air conditioning for summer as well as heating facilities in winter.

I don't want to miss out on my dream venue. So, how far in advance should I make the booking?

Milestone Events

Gone are the days of booking your wedding 2 years to 18 months in advance. Anywhere between 6 and 12 months is an ideal amount of time. It makes it less stressful as you don't over think everything you do and also helps you focus on what the most important things are and leave behind the small things. You can create a more short term budget and you don't have to wait too long till walk down the aisle, it's much more exciting!
