OVERVIEW

The Royal Hotel opened in 1857 and is a historic building on the Mornington Peninsula. Renovations begun in 2012 to restore this ageing building, to its former glory.

Less than an hour from Melbourne, the hotel is located across from Royal Beach, Schnapper Point and Mornington Park. Perfect locations for a wedding ceremony or photo opportunity.

The Royal Hotel is a large venue, which can accommodate for weddings of varying sizes. The Victoriana Room holds 100 pax sit down and 150 pax stand up. However, if you require more space for a larger number, you can book the restaurant area which seats a further 130 pax inside and 40 pax outside. Total capacity for a stand up event is 300 using both the Victoriana Room, the restaurant and veranda.

We also have spectacular accommodation available. This includes a bridal suite with bay views, ensuite and balcony. A continental breakfast for two is provided complimentary. The perfect place to prepare for your special day with your bridal party and not far to go after the big event is over!

The Royal Hotel in Mornington was really good in terms of service as well as on the lead up to the day and we had a sit down reception with drinks included.

Beautiful Victorian style facility which provided all aspects for a beach wedding. Royal beach in front, Victoriana room for reception, beautiful honeymoon suite. Food & wine fabulous, plenty of it and guests raved about it. Staff very helpful and warm

We had a lovely stay at the Royal Hotel in mornington however a little funny story that happened on the night was that our wedding ran longer than we had thought and didn’t actually arrive at the hotel until well after 3am. As it happened there were no staff available that late and the only way into the hotel was via the rear entrance which happens to also be the fire escape. It would have been a pretty funny sight watching my new husband carrying all of our belongings and myself attempting to get up the stairs in my enormous ball gown wedding dress! Ahah once in the hotel we had a lovely stay followed by a yummy breakfast overlooking the bay from our balcony.

Yes it's a pub, but.... the function space is rustic and perfect for an intimate wedding reception with great food and even better service you would not be disappointed with this venue. We had 70 guests and still had room for a dance floor. These guys are great.
