Your booking directly supports vital research into plant resilience, seed banking, and the protection of NSW’s rare and threatened flora.

Each site has a maximum capacity that is detailed in the wedding information for each location. We recommend that you inspect the sites to ensure you are comfortable that your preferred area is well suited for the size of your group.

Absolutely! We are a DIY venue, so you have an aamzing oppurtunity to create your dream wedding!
You’re welcome to use your preferred suppliers — no pre-approval is needed. We simply ask that you include all vendor details in your event runsheet, which is submitted ahead of your wedding day. This helps our team ensure smooth access, timing, and site protection.

As Australia’s largest botanic garden and a leading research institution, protecting plant life and native ecosystems is a top priority. Items like confetti, rice, or even fresh petals can introduce invasive species, harm wildlife, or disrupt research areas. We ask all couples and guests to celebrate responsibly and sustainably to help protect this living collection for generations to come.
We recommend alternatives like bubbles or ribbon wands, which are just as joyful and more sustainable.

Yes. the Australian Botanic Garden Mount Annan is a public garden and other activities may be occurring at the same time. The public will be notified by signage of your ceremony, and our ceremony locations are located in semi-private locations within the site.
If you are after exclusivity, have you considered an after-hours ceremony?
The Garden is a natural setting and some areas may be impacted by weather. We strongly recommend having a wet weather backup plan — we offer beautiful shelted venues like the Herbarium Forecourt, and the Plantbank Undercroft, which can be added to your booking. Your safety and comfort are always our priority.
While we love animals, only assistance animals are permitted at weddings due to the Garden’s role in conservation and its protected living collection.

Yes, ceremonial fires are welcome at the Garden — they just require prior approval. We’ll provide a simple request form for you to complete ahead of the day. Fires must follow safety and environmental protocols to ensure they don’t impact nearby living collections, native habitats, or research zones. Our team will work with you to find a suitable location and ensure everything runs smoothly.
