Congratulations on your upcomign event.

The question you have asked varies for person based on budget, location, culture and how quickly people want or need to get married. It is a personal preference really.

Our business has had clients organise weddings from super organised (up to 2 years prior to event) and some as little as 6 weeks notice.

A good wedding planner and stylist can help you achieve what you want and be the best sounding board for ideas as they are neutral to all the other advice you may get and receive unvoluntarily.

Good luck

Depending on the newly engaged couple you can plan anywhere from 6 weeks to 10 years to plan it comes down to the individual.

I prefer a 2 year planning process to be sure that there are sufficent funds and the newly engaged get what they need on their special day. But it can be done in a short amount of time..

Hi

If you aren't having anything too elaborate, the shortest timeframe would be one month as that is the legal requirement for the paperwork. With the right help you can have a beautiful wedding in any timeframe. By hiring a planner who has suppliers onhand and knows what they are doing, it can be a very easy and stress-free process for you.  If you hire someone like us, we would arrange everything for your ceremony (Celebrant, photographer, bouquet, button hole, styling, set up, pack up) and co-ordinate all for you.  Then if you have a venue reception, they have a co-ordinator to handle all or most of the aspects and suppliers needed to provide your reception.  Dependent on availability of course.

If having a backyard reception, it will depend on how elaborate you want to go and how organised you and your family / friends are. You can always get professional help with providing a great backyard wedding as well.

I hope this helps, good luck with your wedding planning.

Hi,

Some couples like to wait around 18 months to 2 years to save the funds before the big day. It is a personal preference really :)
Realistically the longest item to wait for would be the wedding dress, especially if it is being made for you.

I would recommend a wedding planner to assist so the process of planning is made easy and fun for you. Some comples think a planner would be most of their budget and it all comes down to the type of planner you hire and the services you are requesting. There is no harm in asking for help and prices :)

(it should only be around 8% of the budget or some spend an average of $3,000 depending of services requested)

On the day of your wedding ideally you would want to wake up, have breakfast and relax with the girls as you get ready before the ceremony, let a professional organise the background for you so you can be stress free on such a big day :)

I've seen many a bride and groom who wished they had someone to arrnage those little things and to coordinate the odds and ends on the day.
Think of it as you just want to be able to turn up and enjoy the champagne with your new husband!

All the best -
