Yes!

Having an Mc at your wedding helps organise the night and create a great atmosphere. It's important for the Dj and Mc to communicate throughout the night to ensure everything runs smoothly.

The goal for the Mc is to announce important events during the night like entrances, first dances and cake cutting.
We recommend having an Mc to give you peace of mind while you enjoy the night.

hope this helps !

An MC is essential for having a smooth running event. The master of ceremony should be highly experienced in controlling a crowd and keeping the crowd engaged when necessary.

Hello,

As a professional Master of Ceremonies, my answer is definately yes. If nothing else, for ease of knowledge, that at all times, someone is on hand taking care of all the business and co ordination side of the function side.

Most venues prefer an MC as it assists with timing and managing all events of the night, so they can concentrate on the meals and drinks and other venue related matters.

Please feel free to contact Maria Chine, Master of Ceremonies if you would like to know more.x

a professional dj can also MC, if you want a friend to do it the dj should still work with your mc to make thier job easier. but yes a mc will help make the night run smooth.

Having an MC whether it be someone professional or a guest at your wedding, can help make the reception part of the wedding run smoothly. The MC is responsible to ensure that he run sheet is moving along and working with all the vendors to make sure that they are all ready for the next part, this includes ensuring that the Bride and Groom are ready too. Along with the entertainment for the reception, they can help provide some extra energy throughout the night. If deciding to ask a guest always make sure that they are comfortable working a microphone and speaking in front of an audience.

I have played for weddings where there is no MC and no real sense of a 'Running sheet' and things seem to get done.

In my opinion it's good to at least have someone–beit a dedicated MC, or the musician, or on of the bridal party–to anounce things as they occur. For example, 'Ladies and Gentleman! It's not time for the cutting of the cake' etc.

I am often asked to MC and happy to do this.

Hi!

We have experienced beautiful and relaxed weddings with and without an MC. It absolutely depends on the vibe that will make you the most comfortable, and how structured you would like your wedding to be. Some of our couples choose not to have specific events, traditions or even set meal times organised for the reception which can relieve a lot of timing pressures. For those that value the comfort of a schedule an MC can help a great deal!

By far, the best MC's are family members. There is no substitute for the genuine connection a family member shares with you and your guests. However, that isn't to say that any family member will do. It is also important to remember that, in our experience, the MC can quickly become the go-to person for advice on timings for the evening. Therefore, your MC should be confident and capable of handling challenging situations calmly (and armed with a copy of the run sheet!). Teachers tend to make great MC's!

As the band we are constant liaising with the MC to make sure we are prepared for any last-minute changes and ready for the important events. Good luck! Don't hesitate to get in contact if you have any other questions about your evening, I'd be happy to share our experience.

Hi

Most couples have the best man as their MC

There are some musos who offer up this service but charge a premium on top of the normal costs

If it is simply to make announcements and bridal entrance etc I am happy to include this with the initial price

I definitely recommend having an MC....doesn't even need to be funny or entertaining (but always a bonus) ...but just someone to direct traffic from the end of the ceremony and all the way until last drinks/last dance etc. All the best :) Paul Vercoe
