A DJ and a interactive dance or brazilian floorshow
Both offer different sorts of entertainment! I would recommend having both but if that isn't financial viable, the DJ will be able to fit in more of your favourite tracks in the night.
Reliability – A Disc Jockey has less personnel to rely on to show up and provide an optimum performance.
Variety – The larger the guest list, the more variety in music is needed. Live bands are usually limited to what they can play well. Our extensive music library can keep any crowd happy.
Dancing – People like to dance to music they are familiar with. We play the original versions of your favourite music.
Continuous Music –We dont take a break. The music only stops playing at times you specify (such as toasts and speeches).
Cost – Fewer personnel at your event can mean a lower cost. We offer value for money when all aspects of the service provided are considered.
Sound – A disc jockey can tailor the sound level much easier than a live band can. We always play at a reduced volume level during pre-dinner drinks and meals to allow your guests to converse comfortably; music will typically be played somewhat louder during dancing, but this is totally at your discretion.
Participation – A disc jockey tends to offer more audience participation than bands. We will encourage the active participation of your guests.
Light Show – A disc jockey includes effects lighting. We include an array of high tech effects lighting at no extra cost.

A band and a DJ bring completely different music to your wedding!
A band has the ability to be very intimate and beautiful, with live singing and instruments. As they are live musicians, they are able to shift and change (on the spot) for moments like if the bride or groom is delayed walking down the isle, they can play for longer and extend the song. A band is also perfect for the first dance, which is so beauitful and special.
A band also provides easy and sweet transitions between moments, after the ceremony they can energise the room while the wedding party are taking photos, without being too distracting from the couple. It also provides something for people to actually watch and appreciate the beauty of.
A DJ brings energy and fun, they are perfect for getting people on the floor dancing, taking requests and keeping the energy up! This is also the time when a couple can dance to all their favourite songs (that might swing from folk, to pop, to heavy metal!). A DJ can also play all night long.
Hi There,
It's a hard question because it really depends on the quality of the band or DJ. I personally think that live music can have a bigger impact and you'll have quite a range of bands to choose from. Why not get a band that does covers that you know will have everyone dancing on the floor? Or covers and originals!
Good luck!

Both have their advantages.
A band is live, shows off their musical talent and can be very personalise their playlists. However the negative is the band is limited in what it can play by what they can play, where a DJ can technically play anything they own. The DJ may not be musically talented but if they have the musical knowledge should be able to deliver a bigger all round hit for your special day.
Band or solo artist every time
As a child, a teenager, and adult and now a Professional Master of Ceremonies, I have attended hundreds of weddings over my time, and now helped plan and MC a lot more.
I have MC'd at weddings where couples (mainly due to cultural backgrounds as well as Australian music) have had both, DJ's and Bands.
Both have their purpose. For tradition and mainstream.
It all goes back to yourselves, the tradition (if any) and how you would like to see the evening.
Ensure that either band or DJ is the right fit for you. I hope this helps and please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like any further help with planning the formalities.

A band or a Dj will bring a different atmosphere to the night, it really depends on what you are looking for in entertainment and the type of dance floor vibe you are wanting to dance to.
