Joe Barrs has always possessed a genuine passion for music and performing, having attended two of Sydney’s most prestigious performing arts high schools. Having a sweet melodic voice and a penchant for the guitar, this was his focus until he was 17. This changed when he moved to England to live with his cousin for a period. I love this question. Having a point of difference is a minimum standard I've worked on my whole career. And having a point of difference is what separates someone or something from the normal. So here are three of my points of difference.

  • When you book me as your wedding DJ, I will go above and beyond to ensure I'm not underdelivering on our arranged expectations of each other, and I will work hard to ensure you and your guests are having a fantastic time. 

Communication is the key

  • I appreciate having an initial consultation (vibe check) with clients, then three months before the event check-in, and finally a wedding day check-in with either yourselves or the wedding planner. We'll run through your plans, dreams, expectations and critical outcomes. 

Love

  • It might sound cheesy, but I love what I do and only want to spread positive vibes. Life can be a grind, and I want to be a part of your special day. I remember my wedding day, the happiest day of my life. I will work with you to make sure yours is also.

I've been collecting music my whole career spanning 20 years. Plus, I have access to whizzbang software that allows me to find music on the fly (as long as there's a decent Wi-Fi connection). So, I can play anything and everything. I'm what's known as an open-format DJ. 

  • Top 40, house, rock, pop, dance, country, RnB, hip hop, etc.
  • You can also make song requests.
  • It’s all about giving people a great night!
  • If there's a type of music or song you don't like, I won't play it!

What a gun. Can't recommend Joe enough if you're into everyone storming the dancefloor and having a blast. Joe is an absolute legend. Our initial DJ cancelled on us last minute so Joe came to the rescue at short notice. Lucky for us! Not only is he a genuinely fantastic person, but he's friendly, upbeat and super relaxed (which made our wedding day a breeze). He took our music suggestions and created a stellar playlist for us - and had every single person in the tent on their feet, dancing the night away. Joe Barrs DJ'd our wedding in Oct 23 he absolutely CRUSHED IT! He read the room perfectly, he hit all the queues we gave him and most importantly he had the dance floor pumping the entire time.
