Lark Music’s repertoire includes a range of tunes from a variety of genres for people of all ages. We’re very attuned to what the crowd is feeling and pride ourselves on being able to choose the right songs at the right time for maximum impact and atmosphere.
From our extensive experience we find that a laid back, volume sensitive vibe is great for early in the evening, then we build the pace and intensity of the music by reading the crowd and making sure that dance floor is filled.
We are all about our performance reflecting your personality, so we are more than open to a few dance floor suggestions and of course we are happy to perform your bridal dance, entry and farewells songs.
We are more than happy to facilitate the playing of traditional cultural music via a playlist – Greek, Italian, Chinese, etc.
We have gotten our setup down to a fine art. We'll arrive with plenty of time, around one hour before our designated start time (venue load in dependant) and be ready to go 15mins before your booking start time.
We don't do big loud sound checks, so fret not!
Our standard booking period is 5 hours, which can be extended. During a standard reception we play up to 4 sets of live music (Max. 180mins of live music). A standard event would see us play 1-2 shorter chilled sets, followed by 2 longer dance sets. We've found the best dance floor times are had within 2 high quality dance sets. We want your guests engaged on the dance floor, not burnt out by numerous sets that deteriorate in quality as the night goes on!
We are more than happy to travel anywhere... In fact, we love a road trip! We offer a TRAVEL FREE Zone of 25km from the nearest metro CBD. Travel fees are applied to quotes for events taking place outside this travel free zone. Contact us for exact cost based on your venue location.
We book real DJs. A DJ has real skill; they mix, they read the faces of every crowd member, they employ a range of fantastic dance moves designed to engage and enrapture any audience.
For a discounted package, we can most definitely let you play your own playlists (or even one of ours) through our sound system if that’s your vibe.

Lark Music does bands, DJs and helps clients design playlists for post band or acoustic partying. All options work, except for not having anyone manage the music. The most crucial component is ensuring that one person (an entertainment pro or enthusiastic music lover) is actually in charge of building the dancefloor vibe as the night progresses. The other thing to consider, is how much volume you need to entertain 100+ people, and what kind of quality you need audio wise. A real PA system, not a bluetooth speaker or home stereo is required. Band or DJ or both?
I'm thinking about having a live band during the ceremony, and a DJ at night. How much realistically should I expect to pay for each? Or should I just go with one for the entire day?

An acoustic music/DJ package would allow you to get both the live element then the range of tunes you would want with a DJ. We have packages for Solo and Duo acoustic plus DJ starting from $2,000 that would cover everything from ceremony to closing time.
