what am i asking for when i ask my makeup artist for 'bridal makeup' ?
im not really a girly girl, so i dont know anything about makeup. i dont know what im asking for when i ask my makeup artist for the bridal look. and will they know what colours will look best with my dress/flowers/with my skin? i honestly dont know what to expect out of this appointment and would love an explanation

If you told me that you're not a girly girl, and you don't wear a lot of makeup - then we ask you a few questions about your colours, styling, wedding and hairstyling (if you know) and work within what we believe brings out the best of you. That feels like you. We don't want to change you- just make you look the very best you can be. We want your fiancé to see you walk towards him and recognise you and feel enormous love for you ! 80% of our clients come to us with the same anxiousness about styling. When asking for a bridal look your asking for something elegant that will enhance your features and last all day (and night). There are many bridal looks to choose from. The best way to ensure you are 100% happy with your wedding day makeup is to book a makeup trial. A professional makeup artist will know what tones work best for you and will discuss your colours and wedding theme with you to make sure it all works together and have you looking perfect for your big day.

HI Kessia, I would suggest that you choose a makeup artist whose pictures you really like whether they be on their website, facebook or instagram. An experienced makeup artist will be able to create a look designed just for you by taking into account your facial features,skin colour, dress, flowers, etc. It should all be taken into consideration when you are choosing what makeup will suit you best.

Bridal Make-Up can cover a myriad of looks and styles and it really does boil down to individual preference as some women like a heavier more defined look, and others a simple glowing natural look. I recommend visiting an artists website and seeing their previous work. If you like what they have done on other Brides, schedule in a trial or have an initial chat on the phone about your expectations. I cannot recommend having a trial enough as you want to know that you have picked the right person and right look for your big day. A professional artist will ask all the right questions about your dress, bridesmaids dresses, colours of the flowers etc... and your colouring too to know what tones work with you and the colour scheme. You don't have to be a girly girl or know anything about Make-Up. Bridal Make-Up is a specialist industry and the right professional will work with you to make sure that your desired look is achieved for your wedding.
