Hello again Rosanna. :)
One of the most important factors in preventing deterioration of your makeup in hot & humid conditions is how your skin is prepped by your makeup artist, how and what is applied, as well as how and what they use to set it.
A perfect primed complexion, made up with an airbrushed foundation (which will be water-based) and then sprayed with a fixing spray will hold up the best in even tropical climates.
There's no way to stop perspiration, though, so when beads of perspiration appear on your forehead or upper lip, gently dab with a tissue very softly and you should be able to remove the beads without disrupting the surface of the foundation. If your wedding is in a very humid climate, it always helps to have a suitable powder compact handy just in case. Your makeup artist should be able to advise you on what's best.
It's been a pleasure helping you.

As well as all the excellent make-up product advice to combat sweating makeup off, keep in mind that all of us sweat more when we're anxious and nervous, so managing your prewedding jitters will also help reduce sweating.
Facial Harmony treatments prior to your big day not only give you a natural facelift, but the treatment produces smooth plump skin, which is achieved as the pores close. Facial Harmony is also an excellent way to calm down the nervous system in your entire body, so your physical stress will reduce, and along with that, excess sweating due to nervous excitement.
There are additional ways you can keep your stress to a minimum on the day, like as healthfood store bought Flower Essences, such as Aspen, for fear of the unknown....eg is this person really the one!?....or Mimulus, for fear of something known....eg I'm afraid of tripping down the aisle!....and why not add Larch, for confidence.
Try and stay calm if things go a little off plan on the day by remembering "don't sweat the small stuff!". By combatting sweating on a few different levels you'll feel more confident. When planning your wedding, consider that after a Facial Harmony treatment, your Make-Up Artist's job will be easier.
Hi Rosanna, It can depend on what your skin type is like? In my experience I find that pure mineral makeup like Jane Iredale or Bare Minerals are best if you don't want to feel caked and prefer natural ingredients. Pure mineral makeup ranges like this let your skin breath and are water resistant and offer high sun protection. If you do get hot and sweat you can simply pat your face down with a tissue and your makeup will settle back down when you cool down. They also don't go patchy and having worn this makeup in 40 degree heat and in 98% humidity, I know how well it lasts.
If you're not concerned with natural ingredients then I would reccommend getting a makeup artist who does 'airbrush' makeup. This is silicone based and is what people like Beyonce will use when on stage. You can sweat & swim in it, wipe your face and it'll still look flawless.
I hope that helps? Good luck with your planning. Thanks, Johanna
Waterproof makeup & powder on top for a double wammy =)
To make you make up last the distance you need to start with a moisturiser to best suit your skin type , folllowed by a correcting primer. The primer will help to create a smoother sufface for your foundation to glide on and give it extra staying power. It important to choose the right primer, eg if you have oily skin you need a mattyfing primer. Setting the foundation with a loose setting powder and finishing it of with a fixing spray will ensure it will last you all day.
Hi Rosanna
I would suggest a mattifying primer such as hourglass veil or a pore minimizer from Dr Brandt to ensure your skin stays fairly smooth and matte. Then use a foundation that is not overly oily and translucent setting powder that will absorb excess sweat and oil. Finally setting spray and extra powder to tough up during the day. Excessive sweating can sometimes not be entirely prevented but having the right makeup to touch up can make akk the difference.
Hi Rosanna, defintely products such as mattifying primers, long wearing foundations, setting spray and poweders such as Inglot's Stage Sport Studio mattifying powder all go a long way to ensuring your makeup doesn't melt off! Carrying blotting sheets with you is also another great idea. Have you considered Airbrush makeup? It provides a near flawless coverage by minimizing skin imperfections while giving skin a beautifully natural finished look. Airbrushing is water resistant and sweat proof so great for weddings and special occasions and can last for up to twelve hours dependant on the care that is taken to maintain your makeup. Airbrush foundation has great coverage, but is thin in texture, offering a high-opacity or full coverage application that's dispersed as sheerly and evenly as possible, so you don’t have that caked on feel or look. The result is perfect-looking skin achieved with minimum product. Most of our 54 staff are airbrush qualified so we can trial this for you to give you 100% confidence for your big day.
Hey Rosanna, be sure to us a pore minimizing product before your foundation for example 'Too Faced Primed & Poreless'. A setting spray is always great to use after completing your makeup, and blotting paper & a touch up powder for after you sweat.
But most of all try to relax :) xx

Ask a questionHi! I'm Chelsea and I can help you find suppliers for your wedding. Would you like some help today?
I often have brides asking me the same question - this is something that we as makeup artists are trained to deal with so you can put your trust in me to do my job well and assure you that this will not be a problem on the big day and it will be the least of your worries.
I have the best professional products available in my kit which I have used religiously on many different skin types and I know what products to use on oily versus dry skin as I have been trained to know how to apply certain products and what products work best with all skin types etc.
I use face and eye primers to begin with along with setting sprays to finish and power products to blend into the skin throughout to extend the longevity of the makeup. Everything is set well with powders and primers so the makeup will last!
All brides really have to do is perhaps blot skin with a tissue if they build up a thin layer of sweat (can happen on extremely hot days and if the bride is overly active - makeup is not magic but most of the time it does seem so) or somehow brides could get wet if raining for example but a touch of powder will reset immediately and the base will still be in tact so really not much, if anything for the bride to maintain, hence why you would book a professional to take these worries away from you so you can enjoy the big day and feel at ease with wonderful makeup all day and night!
Hope this helps!
Thanks,
Natalia
