I worked with Carina Sposa Bridal Haute Couture to custom make my bridesmaids dresses. i don't even know where to begin with! Ratka was so amazing and professional since day one. She helped me with the smallest details and helped me create my dream bridesmaid dress! We started with selecting colors, contrasts then the types of fabric i wanted to use and detailing etc... She was so patient with the girls who were a little fussy and pedantic however, Ratka remained calm throughout the entire process and ensured that everything was done to perfection, but most importantly, to how i waned it done. Needless to say, the dresses left not only me and the girls speechless, but my guests were all left in awe! We received so many compliments and everyone wanted Ratka's details. Not only that, I came back from my honeymoon and now one month later, people are STILL talking about my bridesmaids dresses. I would recommend Carina Sposa to EVERYONE not only for creating beautiful gowns, but for her level of professionalism, her calm nature and lovely, friendly personality.

To buy a dress or have it made?

I'm in love with a dress from Pallas Couture but I really don't want to spend 8k plus on a dress I'll wear once. However, I'm worried if I get it made, it just won't look the same and I'm contemplating forking out the money to have the exact dress I want. Any great dressmakers in NSW who have made similar dresses ?

I usually get the images of gown you are wanting than work with you on how you want gowns to look and make a sketch than we work from there.

Our prices are around $3,600.00.

My last bride was surprised to see that she when picked up her gown her gown looked exactly as the original sketch.

Elise was very happy with her original gown.

How many fittings are normally required?

Just curious as to how many fittings are normally required when choosing a wedding dress.

Regarding the fittings it all depends if you are getting gown made by the designer or ordering from existing range.

For made to measure you will need about to 4 to 6 fittings depending how complicated the gown design. Note you will need correct shoes for most fittings.

For ordering from rack - existing style it would take about 2 fittings one to try when the gown arrives and if not perfect - mainly double checking the length - you will need correct shoes for all fittings. Assuming the second fitting is OK you will pick up the gown.

When should I start shopping for a wedding dress?

The best time to start your search for perfect gown is I would say at least 8 months incorporating about 3 months of looking around and trying on the gowns before one gown stands out for you. Usually 6 months is the minimum after you decide, this gives the vendor time to order and produce the gown. To have at least one fitting to double check for example length of the gown and any other adjustments.

And than final fitting when you pick up the gown at that time you should have correct shoes.
