how do i transport my dress overseas on a long-haul plane?

Transporting your gown should not be a problem.
1. Your retailer should provide you with a proper Cover Bag which most airline allow on board.
Once on Board hand to Stewart to hand in Coat closet.
or
2. Place in suitcase as luggage, but I personally do not feel that option is safe.
