The history of wedding ribbons can be traced back to several cultural origins and traditions that have evolved over time. Like many wedding customs, the use of ribbons on wedding cars has a rich and diverse background, and its significance has changed throughout the years.

In recent years, wedding car ribbons have become more diverse and personalised. Couples often choose ribbons that match their wedding theme or color scheme, and some even opt for custom-made designs. Additionally, wedding car ribbons are now seen as a way to express the couple’s personality and individuality, with endless possibilities for creativity and style.

While the history of wedding car ribbons is rooted in ancient customs and traditions, its significance has evolved over time. Today, the use of ribbons on wedding cars is a cherished aspect of the celebration, adding a touch of elegance and personal expression to the couple’s special day. As the tradition of wedding car ribbons continues to grow and adapt, it remains a beautiful way to honor the past while embracing the future.

At Regal Limousines we like to use two coloured ribbons, one usually white and traditional, and the other the choosen colour of the bridesmaids.

It’s not in all types of weddings. Depending on the culture or tradition. Here in Australia it shows that the cars being used are part of a wedding, and often other drivers toot to express good wishes, and often other drivers are more courteous when letting wedding cars turn or enter a busy road. Thank you for your question. The colour "White" is seen as the symbol of purity, thus white ribbons on the cars and for the Brides' wedding dress. The custom of Wedding ribbons on the cars has evolved over time from a custom which is several hundreds of years old. Friends and family of the Bride and Groom would decorate the Newly Weds Bed with Flowers and Ribbons. The Ribbons on the cars symbolise the Bride is on her way to be married, the transfer of care, from the Brides family to the Groom. Today most people are still happy to go with the Traditional White ribbons. However, we are happy to accommodate you should you wish to go with a different colour. Please do not hesitate to contact us should we be able to assist further. Regards, Always Classic Cars
