Cheese towers can be very expensive and sometimes a waste of money as not all people like to eat just cheese. A nice alternative would be a small cheese platter served along with the cake for those people who do not like cake.

I have created these for a few couples for their wedding and if it's done well these can look stylish and beautiful. For one couple, I created a 2 tier cake for them to cut aswell as the cheese tower and the cake table looked divine. At the end of the day, it comes down to personal taste. If done right, it's not tacky at all. Hope this helps. All the best.. Vicki Adixions Cakes & Chocolates XO

Hi . A cheese tower is not tacky . It's really what you would prefer, it can actually be used on the tables as a cheese and Savory plater

Regards Rosa after your meals as dessert is always avavailable

It's all about what you and your partner would like! I don't think it's tacky at all, and if it reflects what you guys like - then go for it!

I don't think cheese towers are tacky as such but they are a bit old fashioned.

You can spend a bit of money providing different cheeses etc that won't get eaten.

Many weddings  provide a sweet buffet table or mini cupcakes etc.

Not something a cake decorator can help you with but if your in Melbourne there is a place called 'the lauging cow'.  They have amazing cheese and do cheese buffet's, I think they can help you with a cheese tower.

I would definatley eat it!! Serve it instead of your cake and guests can take their cake pieces home in little bags like we used to years ago.

Hi Bride,

I usually suggest couples that a Cheese Tower is a great fit if they have a three courses meal that includes dessert. The cheese towerthat will be cut as the main wedding cake, is usually then dismantled, cut and dresses on boards as a grazing table with accompaniments, for tthe guest to nibble along the rest of the night. I don't think they are tacky however choosing a cheese tower needs to fit your taste, theme, guest number and budget to create that wow factor.

Regards
