Meet Hector, the heart of Milestone and your dedicated Bilingual Marriage Celebrant (Spanish and English). With over 20 years of experience he brings warmth and genuine passion to every ceremony. A retired teacher, ordained minister, and experienced chaplain, Hector has devoted his life to serving others. He treasures time with his wife of 35 years and their two grown children.

<p>After we confirm your booking, we’ll provide a link to complete all the necessary documents </p> <p> </p> <p>These Includes:</p> <p> </p> <p>1. Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM)</p> <p></p> <ul> <li>You and your partner must complete and sign a Notice of Intended Marriage form.<br /> </li> <li>It must be lodged with your authorised celebrant at least one month (and no more than 18 months) before your ceremony.<br /> </li> <li>Bring original ID (passport or birth certificate), photo ID, and, if applicable, divorce or death certificates. Translated documents must be certified.<br /> </li> </ul> <p></p> <p>2. Declaration of No Legal Impediment </p> <p></p> <ul> <li>Before the ceremony, your celebrant will have both of you sign a declaration confirming there is no legal barrier to your marriage (i.e. age, relationship status, consent, etc.).<br /> </li> </ul> <p></p> <p>3. Ceremony & Signing of Certificates</p> <p></p> <ul> <li>During the ceremony, the celebrant will recite the legally required words, you exchange vows (and rings, if chosen), and:<br /> </li> <ul> <li>The celebrant, and two adult witnesses (18+) sign multiple certificates:</li> <ul> <li>Ceremonial Certificate (for you)</li> <li>Official Certificate(s) (for the Registry)<br /> </li> </ul> </ul> <li>The ceremonial certificate is yours to keep that day.<br /> </li> </ul> <p></p> <p>4. Registration & Official Marriage Certificate</p> <p></p> <ul> <li>Your celebrant sends the signed official documents to the NSW Registry of Births, Deaths & Marriages within 14 days.<br /> </li> <li>Once registered, your marriage is official and your celebrant will apply for an official marriage certificate—necessary for legal ID, changing surnames, or immigration purposes.<br /> </li> </ul> <p></p> <p>? <p data-start="139" data-end="565">Prepare/Enrich is a marriage education and assessment tool designed to help couples strengthen their relationship. It provides a comprehensive report based on each partner’s responses to a detailed questionnaire, offering valuable insights into communication, conflict resolution, family dynamics, and expectations. A trained facilitator will guide the couple through their results in a supportive and constructive manner.</p> <p data-start="139" data-end="565"></p> <p data-start="567" data-end="920">Our celebrants are also trained facilitators of the Prepare/Enrich program and will walk with the couple through their results with care and encouragement. If the couple wishes to proceed with premarital counselling, we have Marriage Counsellors who are PACFA-registered and have extensive experience in guiding couples on their journey toward marriage.</p> <p data-start="567" data-end="920"></p> <p data-start="922" data-end="1044">---------------------<br />How does it work?<br /><br /></p> <p>Once you have completed your booking and payment. <p data-start="109" data-end="275">Great question!<br data-start="128" data-end="131" /> We have two celebrants because we operate as a team, ensuring you can have complete peace of mind—there will be no cancellations from Milestone.<br /><br /></p> <p data-start="277" data-end="529">Hector Padilla will be your primary celebrant.<br data-start="327" data-end="330" /> <br />Chris Lee will serve as your backup celebrant in the event that Hector is unavailable due to illness, emergencies, or unforeseen circumstances. Chris will also provide the premarital counselling.</p> <p></p>
