What is required to get married in Australia?

You do not need to be an Australian citizen to get married, or be in the country for a certain amount of time.  You must however, be of marriageable age (18 years or older) and must have two witnesses also over the age of 18 attend the marriage ceremony.

A Notice of Intended Marriage form needs to be lodged with your marriage celebrant no later than one month prior to the wedding date.

To comply with all the legal requirements of the Notice of Intended Marriage, your celebrant must sight the following documents:
A birth certificate (or passport).
Divorce papers or death certificates if either party has been married before.
Photo identification, e.g. driver’s license.
Documents can be scanned and emailed to the celebrant if the couple do not reside locally.  However by law, the wedding cannot proceed unless the celebrant has sighted all of the original documents.
If a Notice of Intended Marriage is completed overseas, it needs to be witnessed by a Notary Public.  If either party cannot speak English, then an official interpreter must be present and they must sign a statutory declaration.  Any documents not in English need to be officially translated.

What areas do you service?

I am based in Queensland on the beautiful Gold Coast. I live in centrally located Labrador which allows me to perform weddings on the Gold Coast, Northern NSW (Bryon Bay), Tamborine Mountain, Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast (and further afield by negotiation).

There was no doubt that Angie had a perfect ceremony for us. She was so attentive and responsible that she did exactly what we asked of her and presided over the whole ceremony in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere, which was unforgettable. If anyone needs a perfect ceremony, Angie will certainly satisfy you and is highly recommended.

As this union was between two people from opposite sides of the world a Visa had to be organised and Angie was on our side with advice and forms 14 months before we married. There was not guarantee that we would even get married but this did not lessen who willingness to assist. She is very professional with the actual ceremony, left nothing to chance and had different formats to suit different wedding situations. On the day she arrived early, checked all was in place and liaised with the hotel staff. I could not imagine anything going wrong if Angie is involved. There maybe Celebrants as good as Angie but there would be none better.

Angie was perfect for our wedding. She made everybody feel at ease and made the ceremony run smoothly. Angie takes the time to sort everything with regards to the ceremony and has many helpful tools to assist with the planning process. Angie had a real empathy with us and added special touches like "the couples love story", which made it feel very close and personal. Highly Reccomended

Angie was wonderful. After our first phone conversation I felt very comfortable with Angie and she did an amazing job of putting together and delivering a ceremony that really suited us and our style, despite us being interstate and Angie not meeting us in person until just before the wedding.
