March 2020

Jess was amazing, went above and beyond to make our ceremony very us. We felt completely comfortable and so glad we chose her to be a part of our day.

October 2019

Jessica was fantastic in what she did. It didn't matter what we wanted, she was available to do anything and assist us with it all. We would recommend her to anyone. We also appreciated how Jess took it upon herself to interact with our daughter and occupy her while we had the greetings after the ceremony.

July 2019

After one meeting with Jess, we knew she was the one! We just clicked and got along so well together, choosing her was a no brainer. For us, picking a celebrant that we felt comfortable with and that understood us was vital, and being able to tell that from the first meeting just demonstrates how great Jess is at her role. She made the process so easy and created a ceremony that was us to a T. Our ceremony was funny, heart warming and so full of love. If you're looking for your dream celebrant, look no further.

February 2019

We had Jess as our celebrant on 18/11/18 at Kooyonga Golf Club. She is a friendly, bubbly, vibrant professional and we could not have been happier we chose her! She made the whole process so easy and created the perfect ceremony which really captured our story and dynamic as a couple. We had to cancel our rehearsal last minute due to illness and she still managed to guide us through the day without any hiccups. We had such positive feedback from all of our guests about how she conducted herself and created such a relaxing ceremony full of love. We cannot thank her enough! xx

Jessica is a lovely soul. She made our ceremony better than we could have ever imagined. There was tears, laughs and lots of love. Highly recommend her to anyone in need of a celebrant.

Is it okay to stand the opposite way at the altar?

I know the bride is meant to stand on the left in our culture (and opposite in Jewish ceremonies), but can I stand on the right?

Jessica Maida Marriage Celebrant

Absolutely! For a civil ceremony you can stand wherever you like really! Thats the beauty of a civil ceremony, there are no rules except a few legal requirements.

Do Aussie couples usually have ushers?

We don't have a bridal party but want to honour our close friends by asking them to have official roles on the day, like ushers, and doing a reading and things like that.

Jessica Maida Marriage Celebrant

In terms of your friends participating in a ceremony, there are many options to consider

1. share a reading/quote/poem

2. present the wedding rings

3. Have them be your witnessess

4. They could read a section of the ceremony

Hope that is some insight for you

Do you usually have a rehearsal with the couple before the wedding day?

Jessica Maida Marriage Celebrant

To be honest, I find meeting with just the couple at a cafe more effective as rehearsals can be distracting (more so from the bridal party having too much fun). I find the bridal party rush to be a the reahearsal from work and I hardly need to direct them for the rehearsal. On the day I line the groomsman up before the bride arrivs and the bridesmaids are mirror image to the boys. As long as the bride and groom know what is happening (which can be discussed in any setting) then it all runs smoothly from my experiance.

I also find most couples want a rehearsal at the venue to 'time the music' and lets face it, a friend can do that not your celebrant.

Tips from our specialists

Just need a quote?
It helps to provide...

  • Your contact details
  • Mention your wedding date
  • Ask if they are able to provide a PA/microphone if necessary
  • We highly recommend organising to meet your celebrant in person if possible
