Our ceremony was on site at The Farm, which has a beautiful old barn down near the river. A little bit of a walk down a hill which tested the oldies, however the entrance for the bridal party was magical. The scenery was beautiful with all the trees and leaves and with the water in the background. Our florist had worked her magic also! We wanted everything on site so we didn’t have to waste time on our special day traveling.

Darren was a pleasure to work with. His real focus is on capturing moments rather than forcing people into poses all throughout the event. Having said that, he was great at hustling to get the necessary family photos just after the ceremony - not an easy task when everyone is keen mingle and continue drinking. Our photos are perfect, he has captured so many moments that bring back such great memories from our special day; candid and staged.

We had 2 cars - one for myself, brother, mum and grandma and the other for my 4 bridesmaids. I chose a Bentley and a Rolls Royce, they did not disappoint. I love cars and they were so beautiful, plus the photos with the cars turned out great. Vince was a delight, they had such a positive vibe that instantly made me feel calm.

I booked everything well in advance as I was doing it all from a distance and I like to be organised. Coby from Top Dog was so patient and helpful and put up with my fifty emails a day always staying so positive! Our dj called me a week before to introduce himself and check in to make sure we were comfortable with everything. He got everyone up and dancing, even my grandma! He played her favourite song at my request. This was a highlight for me being able to share that moment with her. The song I chose to walk down the isle was Bon Iver, Holocene and our first dance was Angus & Julia Stone’s, Get Home.

We chose a flourless hazelnut and chocolate for one tier and a salted white choc caramel for the other tier. It was all made inhouse at The Farm. I did manage to save a little for our first anniversary. We aren’t sweets people, but boy did it taste good!

Mitch and I met with Tam at a coffee shop to talk about our ideas. Tam was great, even in spite of us running a little late (maybe more than a little late) to our first meeting – she not only listened to our ideas but she made amazing suggestions. The flowers brought the whole wedding to life. I met with Tam at the venue where she brought a sample of the flowers and they were perfect. She captured my colours and vision and added so much more. It was a big job as I had floral arrangements on the barn, on the beams in the reception area and across the tables as well as all of the wedding party flowers!

I found Andrea after doing a lot of research and what a dream come true. My outfit was by far the most important thing to me, it needed to capture my personality. I took a photo which I had for about 4 years into Andrea and from the first time I met with her I knew it was going to turn out perfect. The outfit I chose was a silk jacket dress with lace pants. My intuition was spot on, Andrea nailed it. A little different to the picture I took in but made in a way that was more me. This was all credit to Andrea’s proficiency, ensuring we were on the same wave length. We had many conversations simply getting to know each other, following which she was able to make the outfit of my dreams. Now I just need to find an excuse to get something else made! She is friendly, calm and so professional, I miss seeing her for my fittings.

Mitch’s groomsman came from all over; flying in to Melbourne at all different times. Black Tie was able to accommodate for each of them, the boys all getting matching suits, and there were a few suits needed.

Mitchell really loved the idea of the feast menu to bring everyone together. I chose the vegetarian option just to make sure I got the best of both worlds - smart. The food was AMAZING, everyone was stuffed.

I looked at so many venues all over Perth and Melbourne and couldn’t find the perfect one. When I got recommended The Farm by someone I organised to meet with Anthea who would show me around. From the very first contact Anthea was beyond amazing. It really felt like a personal connection while organising the wedding and she really understood where I was coming from. She was more than accommodating when I wanted to come and look at the venue or bring someone there. She made me feel calm up until the point of walking down the isle. I cannot put in to words how great Anthea was.
