Our wedding was sandwiched between Melbourne lockdowns, and after such gloominess we had just one brief for the day - for all of our friends and family, to come together in celebration and to have an amazing night of dance floor action. We booked Bars, and were absolutely thrilled when the formalities were over and they got playing. They had our guests on the dance floor on their first song. They were fabulous on the evening, and absolutely delivered on brief. Very cool music, with the gorgeous vocals of Sarah Jessica. We were so happy we nominated to go with live music and thankful for Bars giving our wedding such a fantastically fun atmosphere. We received such tremendous feedback from our guests! Just be sure to stock up on bandaids, for when the lights come on and everyone hobbles off into the night with their blisters!!

Having previously gone to a wedding where I had to hit up McDonalds following because I was so hungry from an evening of teeny-tiny canapes, I was adamant I wanted to give our wedding guests a feast that would have them talking about it for years to come… and I truly struck gold when I found Burn City Smokers. Raph, Steve and their team are absolute legends. Their food (particularly their mouth-watering brisket!) has genuinely topped the list of what our wedding guests have been raving back to us about. Another huge bonus, they catered so well to everyone and we’ve had very appreciative friends and family who were grateful for their dietaries being catered for so effortlessly. It allowed them to feel included in the feasting, which isn’t always the case. So in all, not a single bad word, just rave review after rave review!!

If you’re looking for a wedding florist, please look no further than Thrive Flowers! Rosie and the team there are an absolute delight to work with. Having begun planning during Covid uncertainty, I felt tremendous trepidation in beginning the consultation process with my vendors. Yet Rosie made the flower-side of things so straight forward and stress-free, and she was genuine, calm, considered and easy-going in all of our communications. It was always a treat to workshop with Rosie. Given Covid, we relied on one round of inspiration pics and subsequent phone calls toward the pointy end, but pretty much I just described to Rosie our wedding vibe from our first chat, and she translated it to perfection. I was truly blown away by the magic of their flowers to bring to life our ceremony and reception venues. Absolutely beautiful work, by some truly fantastic superstars!!

Simone and the Animata String Quartet were a beautiful addition to our wedding ceremony and post-ceremony drinks hour. Their gorgeous musical renditions created such a magical atmosphere and completely elevated our wedding to be really something unique and special. There was just something wonderful about walking down the aisle and having our venue space filled with the soaring sounds of their instruments. Simone was also utterly professional in her communications, and I have no hesitations in recommending. My only comment is that I truly wish on the day I didn't need to be whisked off for photos so I could hear more! It seems such a crime that I missed out!! Only good things filtered back to us through friends and family. I’ll be doing my best to encourage friends to get married and to use Animata String Quartet so I can sit back and enjoy next time!

Right from our first email correspondence, my partner and I clicked so effortlessly with Paul. Easygoing and tremendously likeable, yet switched-on and professional – it’s a hard balance to find in your vendors yet Paul had exactly the right touch of these attributes the entire way through. From first chats, to developing our script, to the actual big day itself, he made the process entirely enjoyable. It’s a testament to him too that this feedback is repeated in so many of his reviews. When it mattered most on the wedding day, Paul anchored me to the moment with his perfect balance of sentimentality and chuckles from our guests. We had family members question whether we knew Paul outside of his celebrant role and whether we’d appointed a mate. I think that says so much about his ability to make the ceremony a warm and engaging affair, not a stilted formality!
