Wine lovers Joanne and Heath went back to where it all began for their romantic vineyard wedding.
The couple, aged 30 and 34 respectively, married on April 21, 2018 with 100 guests at Vines at Helen’s Hill Estate in Victoria. They were set up by a friend and began romancing one another via Facebook. “A winery tour in the Yarra Valley was the perfect experience to get to know each other,” the bride says of their first date.
A week after they were engaged, they booked into a venue in the Yarra Valley. “We tied the knot at the Vines at Helen’s Hill Estate, a hidden gem, on the most perfect of days,” smiles Joanne.
“We wanted family and friends to be surrounded by colour, the beauty that the Yarra Valley views bring, and personal moments that will stay with people forever,” explains Joanne. “Right down to chocolate bomboniere gifts for everyone, which highlighted our love of all things sweet.”
The couple praised the work of their photographers for capturing their personalities in the images. “It displayed our personalities and interests perfectly – the golfer in Heath and the romantic in me.”

Heath spotted Joanne on a mutual friend’s Facebook and he was attracted instantly! “After a cleverly scheduled surprise at our “cupid” friend’s birthday, the love story began,” says Joanne.
“Ateia Photography made us feel comfortable and glamorous,” praises the couple. “Our guests loved Ramy’s witty personality too.”
“Our first date lead to many more fun moments and travel experiences, culminating with a South African holiday and appropriate proposal on a helipad in the winery region of the beautiful Stellenbosch, Cape Town,” recalls the bride.
“The style was based on classy and modern designs,” recalls Joanne. “With elegance and a touch of rustic charm, the whole day simply radiated love.”
Joanne chose a Nicole Spose wedding gown for the classic nuptials.
“After both just coming out of long term relationships, neither of us expecting to find love so soon,” says the bride.
