High school sweethearts Ashlea and Scott host romantic city wedding

High school sweethearts Ashlea and Scott decided to be a little unconventional when it came to their bridal party.

"Thinking about the people who meant the most to us, I chose a bridesmaid and two bridesmen. Scott had two groomsmen and a grooms lady. We loved how that made us unique, and we couldn't image it any other way," says the bride.

The 29-year-old couple married at Aerial by food&desire at South Wharf, Victoria. Ashlea and Scott chose the waterfront venue due to its ability to host both ceremonies and receptions and its incredible onsite catering team.

Guests were greeted into the reception space with a full wall projection of the word 'finally!' - a joke about couple's 12-year relationship before tying the knot officially.

Other unique features included a polaroid photobooth from Undisposable and an ice cream bar designed as a late night 'dance refuel' for the guests!

Ashlea sourced her incredible gown from Bluebell Bridal.

"Final touches were gold and black lanterns with LED wax candles scattered around the venue, plus marble name tags for our guests to also take home as bomboniere," says the bride.

"It was so important to us that the beautiful 180 degree view of our beloved Melbourne city was the feature of our reception space, so all floral and installation decisions were made with this in mind. We decided to use simple floral arrangements, of all white flowers and greenery to help create our romantic theme."
