A love of culture brought Elena and Billy together, and it was that heritage they wanted to celebrate in their Macedonian vineyard wedding.
The Sydney pair, both 30, first met back in 2005. “I was playing in the band for my wife’s dancing group whilst on tour in Macedonia,” Billy explains.
The couple remained friends for a decade, before both realised there was something more.
“In 2015 we caught up over Easter where we both realised that the friendship was always a spiritual soulful connection. We were more than soul mates. We were lovers,” Billy says.
He proposed at Easter 2017 and the couple began planning their big day with plenty of Macedonian flair.
They wed at Holy Mother of God Macedonian Orthodox Church in front of 260 well-wishers on December 3, 2017.
It was then on to Ottimo House, Denham Court for the fun-filled reception.
“We had an amazing day filled with explosive energy from 7am to 1am,” Billy says.
“We mixed both our Australian and Macedonian cultural backgrounds together to create a wedding filled with love, family, culture, tradition and music.
“We had our dancing shoes on from beginning to end surrounded by our family and friends. To top it off we had special guests from Macedonia, Austria and all around Australia, including my 80-year-old grandparents.”

Elena paired her unique figure-hugging gown with accessories from Abbey Bridal.
“Authenticity is everything. We have always stayed true to ourselves and our wedding was just that,” Billy says.
The couple’s gorgeous on-trend cake was adorned with beautiful blooms.
