Ashleigh and Sophia’s enchanting countryside wedding at Potters Receptions

When Ashleigh and Sophia set out to plan their dream wedding, they envisioned something rustic yet elegant. The perfect venue for their vision? Potters Receptions. Describing their choice, Ashleigh said, “Thank God for Potters Receptions!”

The lush and green surroundings, gardens, trees, and charming wisteria courtyard made this Warrandyte an ideal location. The couple appreciated the venue’s thoroughness, providing options for everything from table numbers and centrepieces to linens and wishing wells. The staff’s efficiency and anticipation of their needs left them singing praises for Potters.

The ceremony took place in the enchanting Wisteria Courtyard, transitioning smoothly into family shots. With a first look allowing for early bridal party photos, Ashleigh and Sophia enjoyed mingling with guests during cocktail hour, held both in the courtyard and a nearby room. Potters staff effortlessly transformed the ceremony space for cocktails. The grand entrance to the reception space left a lasting impression, with the night featuring cake cutting, entrees, mains, speeches, and a magical sparkler exit. The flow of events was orchestrated with precision, thanks to the coordination between Potters and the couple’s musician/MC.

Potters handled the catering, accommodating various dietary requirements. Sophia, a vegetarian bride, praised the menu, which included gnocchi, cannelloni, steak, chicken, lemon tart, and pavlova. The guests’ compliments poured in, particularly for the accommodating approach to dietary needs.

Reflecting on the day, Ashleigh and Sophia expressed a desire to relive it exactly the same way. The only consideration was starting preparations a bit earlier to savour more pre-ceremony moments. The overall sentiment was clear — “it was the best day ever.”

We wanted leafy and lush grounds with great Plan A and B ceremony options — Melbourne weather! — with on site accommodation. Potters Receptions ticked all of these boxes and more that we didn’t even know we wanted. They were the first venue we saw and every other venue we visited did not even come close. Price was obviously a factor as well, and Potters were very reasonable compared to the other venues in the area, while offering many many more inclusions.
