Ten-time Grammy Award-winning songstress Taylor Swift has given two fans the ultimate surprise: she turned up to their wedding, performed a song – and even bought a wedding gift.
The lucky newlyweds, Max Singer and Kenya Smith, were married on June 4 at Long Beach Township in New Jersey and were more than a little shocked when the Shake it Off singer walked in to their reception – and even performed her song Blank Space, which held a particular spot in the couple’s hearts.
Months earlier, the groom’s sister, Ali, reached out to Tay Tay with a sweet letter about her brother, a huge Taylor Swift fan, and his then fiance. When it became apparent that their terminally ill mother would not make it to their upcoming wedding, they decided to have a ceremony in her hospital room. There Max and his mother sang and danced a wedding dance to Blank Space shortly before she passed away.
Clearly touched by the story, Taylor organised the surprise appearance and performance with Max’s sister. The delighted guests sang along to the performance and took to social media afterwards to tell the world all about it.
She even brought with her a wedding gift, and a very special one at that: a hand-painted greeting featuring lyrics from the song which means so much to the family.
This isn’t the first time Tay Tay has, generously, joined in with one of her fan’s bridal celebrations. In 2014 she showed up to one of her fan’s bridal showers.
