90s weddings: how times changed
The world is waiting for Taylor Swift’s wedding photos. Here are other trend-starting celebrity weddings.

The internet is doing what it does best: refreshing endlessly.
With no official photos from Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s rumoured Madison Square Garden wedding yet, fans have been left picking apart grainy images, questionable AI fakes and second-hand reports in the hope of catching a glimpse of what could become the most influential wedding of the decade.
Because celebrity weddings change what real couples want.
We’ve seen it happen time and time again. One dress, one venue, one styling decision, and suddenly Pinterest boards, bridal boutiques and wedding planners are flooded with couples chasing the same look.
According to our Destination Weddings Manager Lauren Madex, celebrity weddings have a habit of giving couples permission to dream a little bigger or simply do things differently.
“Celebrity weddings are everything,” she laughs.
Here are the weddings that have already left their mark and why Swift and Kelce’s could be next.
Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi: Weddings become holidays
Destination weddings continue to grow in popularity, and celebrity celebrations are helping fuel the trend.
“Italy has always been a dream destination, but celebrity weddings like Millie’s continue to fuel that excitement,” says Lauren.
“Couples are increasingly looking at destinations like Italy, not just for the scenery, but because they want to turn their wedding into an experience.”
“Instead of just one big day, they’re planning welcome dinners, recovery brunches, and giving their guests an unforgettable holiday alongside their wedding.”
Sofia Richie Grainge and Elliot Grainge: The South of France effect
Few celebrity weddings have had the grip on bridal Pinterest that Sofia Richie Grainge’s wedding did.”If there was one wedding that made everyone want to get married in Europe, this was it,” says Lauren.
“Her South of France wedding completely captured that effortless luxury vibe.”
“It really sparked the demand for European destination weddings, beautiful natural styling, and that ‘less is more’ aesthetic that so many couples are now chasing.”
Lauren admits she’s personally invested.
“Plus the fact that I grew up obsessed with Paris & Nicole always helped to cement this as one of my most loved weddings.”
Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas: Celebrating both cultures
For Lauren, one of the most meaningful celebrity weddings of recent years was the multi-day celebration between Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas.
“I absolutely loved this wedding because it celebrated both of their cultures so beautifully,” she says.
“It’s been wonderful to see more couples embrace cultural traditions, multiple ceremonies, and meaningful family moments, rather than feeling like they have to stick to just one style of wedding.”
Rather than choosing between traditions, more couples are finding ways to honour both families and create celebrations that feel uniquely theirs.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry: Quiet luxury before it had a name
Royal weddings have always influenced bridal fashion, but Meghan Markle’s impact is still being felt years later.”You can never underestimate the influence of a royal wedding,” says Lauren.
“Meghan’s timeless style had such a huge impact on bridal fashion and wedding styling. Elegant gowns, classic florals, beautiful gardens, and understated luxury are all trends that we’re still seeing couples fall in love with today.”
Minimalist silhouettes, clean lines and classic styling continue to dominate bridal mood boards long after the royal celebrations ended.
Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker: Weddings without the rulebook
Sometimes a celebrity wedding sparks conversation because it throws the rulebook out altogether.
“I think this wedding really gave couples permission to do things differently,” says Lauren.
“It wasn’t about pleasing everyone else, it was about celebrating their love, their way.”
“We’ve definitely seen more couples choosing intimate weddings, smaller guest lists, and creating celebrations that feel really personal and authentic.”
Swift has already influenced everything from friendship bracelets to lipstick sales. It wouldn’t be surprising if her wedding sparked another wave of bridal trends.
Lauren is already keeping a close eye on one celebrity whose fashion choices she believes will shape next year.
“I died when I saw Dua Lipa’s wedding outfit,” she says.
“That outfit will be a trend in 2027. Guaranteed.”
“Wedding suits and hats. I love a moment that breaks the traditions. I can absolutely see more brides embracing chic tailoring, statement accessories, and modern bridal looks that reflect their personality rather than following convention.”
And with multiple outfit changes becoming increasingly common?
“Yes! Multi changes. A wedding is a fashion show,” she laughs.
Celebrity weddings have a funny way of changing what everyone wants next.
One incredible dress, a new take on tradition or a venue nobody saw coming, and suddenly it’s everywhere. Pinterest boards fill up. Brides start sending screenshots. Wedding planners hear the same requests on repeat.
Taylor Swift’s wedding is unlikely to be any different.
Whether it’s the fashion, the styling, the flowers or something completely unexpected, don’t be surprised if the next five years of weddings start looking just a little bit more… Tay-Tay.
Within days, couples everywhere will be adding it to their Pinterest boards.
