Biggest Loser contestant Robert Jofre marries fiance in surprise TV wedding

It took 10 years and losing 59kgs but Aussie truck driver Robert Jofre finally made it down the aisle last night – and he did it in style, marrying his fiance of a decade in a tear-jerking surprise TV wedding ceremony.

Robert, 42, proposed to fiance Emma, who’s the mother of his two children, about 10 years ago but they never set a date due to Robert’s determination to walk down the aisle at his goal weight of 99kgs.

Last night, after months of gruelling workouts and emotional breakthroughs, Robert fulfilled his promise publicly after weighing in at 99.3kgs.

Victorian truck driver Robert who just months ago weighed 158.6kgs,  proposed to Emma again last night after the show’s final weigh-in where his nephew Daniel, 24, was crowned The Biggest Loser 2015 winner after dropping 51.6kgs.

Robert appeared elated as his goal weight flashed up on the screen before running off the stage and into the audience, where got down on one knee and re-proposed to Emma in front of two daughters, three-year-old Amelia and five-month-old Sophie.

“Hey, baby. You know what this means?,” said Robert, peering deeply and lovingly into her eyes, “So, for the second time: ‘will you marry me?’”

A surprised Emma said and immediate ‘yes,’ and the couple shared a kiss before Emma was whisked away to hair and make-up and handed a bouquet – as well as perfectly fitting wedding dress.

The pair were married on stage before being given an unexpected wedding gift by the show’s creators: an all-expenses paid honeymoon to Hawaii.

Robert’s weight loss of 59kgs earned him a staggering $10,000 in prize money, along with the $100, 000 split between himself and his three nephews Pablo, Tony and Daniel Jofre. The Jofre’s were the winning team of TBL Families 2015 with a total combined weight loss of 208.6kg.
