What should the timeline be for a cocktail only reception. The party will be 4 hours
We are having a cocktail reception at a wine bar in Las Vegas and would like to get a timeline of events. Reception is from 7:00 PM - 11:00 PM, Hors d'oeuvres and cocktails will be served, along with cake and champagne for the toast. Help

As Misty Mountains Rainofrest Retreat offers in intimate private location for you and your guests cocktail weddings generally are between 3 to 4 hours but again this is upto you how long you would like to spend with your guests.
5 hours at Amberlee Receptions without ceremony.
The above suggestions are all great but just remember to relax and enjoy the night! Work out for how many hours the food will be served and break it up based on when you would like to do your speeches and cake cutting as you probably dont want food service then. Space it out so all the food doesnt come out at once. Enjoy!!
This really depends on the package you have chosen. Canapes are typically served at regular intervals so if you are having speeches, cake cutting and a toast you may want to schedule these around the canape service. The timeline is entirely up to you and I would suggest doing your toast a little later if this will be done with the cake cutting. Cake is best served after the canapes as your desset or sweet treat. Thank you for your question! Most ceremonies on Magnetic Island take place around 3 – 4pm with the reception starting around 6.30pm. During the time between ceremony and reception, usually the couple will serve some Cocktail Snack Platters to keep their guests going. Then, once the bridal party enter the reception (usually about 15 minutes after the reception starts) additional food comes out such as canapés, snack platters, and a Fork & Walk Buffet with more substantial food around 7.30pm followed by speeches at 8.15pm. The dessert for cocktail style reception tends to be the wedding cake plated with berry compote and cream served around 9pm. And your 4 hour function would then wind up around 10.30pm.
That would be totally up to yourself.

At The Woolshed we offer our wedding couples a 3-4 hour canape service. We love the idea of including a grazing table at the beginning of the wedding to help fill up your guests. Generally once the canapes slow up and finish it will leave 1 - 1 1/2 hrs of dancing.
