Nestled in the Lanyon Valley in Canberra’s south, Lanyon Homestead is situated along the Murrumbidgee River. The Historic Precinct dates from the 1830s and offers tranquil surrounds for any style of wedding, from an authentic country wedding to a contemporary garden ceremony.

Alongside the 1850s Homestead, the property boasts original outbuildings such as the convict built Kitchen and the rustic Machinery Shed which provide endless photo opportunities ensuring unique memories of your wedding are captured for years to come.

A number of the gardens and outbuildings are available for wedding receptions and ceremonies including a variety of wet weather options, which differ in size and aspect. We are happy to discuss which setting suits your upcoming wedding, and are passionate about finding the best option for you.

Lanyon Homestead was the perfect setting for our wedding ceremony and reception. Still close enough to the city, but removed enough to feel like you're in the country. The staff were all very helpful and accommodating and the price for hire was very affordable.
