OVERVIEW

Privately owned, eco-friendly wildlife lodge situated 1000 metres above Cairns, between the famous rainforest village of Kuranda and the bustling rural town of Mareeba.

We are a private, family-owned, eco-friendly venue for small and medium size weddings.

Located at the end of the road in a sparsely populated area of the Upper Tablelands Rainforest , we can offer you rugged luxury in a secluded and wild place. Take your vows and celebrate in nature.

Our Gothic-style stone lodge contains five large  suites accommodating up to 17 guests and open plan social areas .  Your wedding party will make Cedar Park their home. Nature, board games, puzzles, musical instruments, toys and books take the place of TVs, mobile phones and other digital devices we don't have. Regardless of the weather you will have plenty of space undercover or outdoors to spread out. We can recommend nearby alternatives for those guests who cannot be accommodated in our lodge suites.

Wildlife is the key element at Cedar Park. With nearly 200 varieties of birds and a plethora of rainforest flora and fauna, you and your guests can hike, run, bike or 4WD the trails of the upper rainforest surrounding us. Or just spread out and relax, stroll the gardens and the creek, enjoy birdwatching or lounge in one of many hammocks.  Enjoy a heated rainforest spa bath in privacy. Our creek swimming hole, ping pong and other outdoor areas will keep the children laughing.

In the dark of night, our skies radiate a range of their treasured stars and formations without the interference of urban light. Our telescope offers a close-up view of the moon. Take a nature walk by torchlight and look for frogs, bandicoots, paddymelons and more. Sit around a fire, mingle in the restaurant or retreat to your private suites.

The Restaurant at Cedar Park will serve you gourmet Australian fare cooked up by our French chef and cooks in an undercover rainforest setting. We serve up our own homegrown vegetables and fruits whenever possible and in season. Stroll our fruit forest and pick your own when we have an abundance. Enjoy a  complimentary and delisious continental breakfast with your room, including meats, cheeses, local seasonal fruit, and other items. Cook up your own free range eggs, brew local coffee or tea. We can cater to your drinks requirements from our licenced bar.

Venue hire includes all our suites and exclusive use of the Cedar Park Lodge, dining area and grounds the afternoon, evening and morning of your wedding. Our staff and family will look after your every need to allow you to relax and have a memorable occasion.

do I need wedding venue insurance?

Cedar Park Rainforest Resort

As a business we are required by law to have $10 million liability insurance which will cover any injuries that may occur to your party while staying at our venue.

Are wedding venues a good investment?

They're the highest turnover of the whole wedding industry, but wouldn't they also have the highest cost to run?

Cedar Park Rainforest Resort

Yes, I believe your wedding venue is a good investment and bookings from brides/grooms should be made early on in the decision making process because the event venue is the underpinning of most of the other planning, eg. music, lighting, photography, accommodation, decorating, food/drink offering.... Wedding venues are very expensive to run and the planning of a good wedding takes time on the part of the couple and their guests.
