Can we arrange a site inspection?

Absolutely - please call 02 4567 3000 or email tomahweddings@rbgsyd.nsw.gov.au to let us know you are coming.  Our friendly staff will be able to help you and we have a map that outlines our suggested locations.

What are the catering options?

You can arrange your own catering or we have a list of local caterers that other visitors have booked before and we do have on-site catering through The Potager, Mount Tomah who you can contact by calling 02 4567 2575 but are under no obligation to use.

Can I have an event after the Garden closes?

  • The Blue Mountains Botanic Garden Mount Tomah (the Garden) is open 9.30 am–5.30 pm and is closed on Christmas Day.  
  • Any function that runs outside of the Garden opening times is required to pay an after-hours security fee of around $60/hour.  All after hour’s functions must cease by 10pm and all parties must vacate the Garden by 10.30pm.
  • The security fee for an after-hours function on a public holiday is available at a price on application.
  • Lighting is mandatory for all after hours’ function on the Formal Lawn to ensure visibility and thereby safety between the hired site and the Visitor Centre toilets.

What equipment does my booking come with?

  • The Garden has available 8 chairs for guests along with one small signing table, a tablecloth and an additional 2 chairs for the signing of the register.
  • Additional equipment can be hired from function hire companies. All equipment being brought into the Garden requires prior permission. The hirer must notify the Garden prior to the event of any suppliers who will be providing goods or services. A copy of their current public liability insurance must be provided to the Garden, along with details of drop off and pick up times. A list of suppliers previously delivering to the Garden can be supplied on request.

Does the Garden have a list of suppliers, accomodation, caterers etc that we can use?

We have collated a list of local business operators from previous visitor bookings that we would happily provide to you who you are under no obligation to use.

Can we have a marquee?

Marquees may be erected on the Formal Lawn only by special arrangement and additional fees are applicable. Marquees are to be erected under Garden staff supervision to protect underground irrigation systems. Flooring is mandatory for all function and catering marquees to protect the turf.

What if it rains?

All bookings come with an indoor option at no additional charge.

What about Photography, Filming & Drones?

Photography permits are part of your venue hire package.  If you do want to only shoot at the Garden then you will need to call 02 4567 3000 to arrange a permit for all of the above or visit our website under Venue Hire for all the details.
