Hi, my name is Charley Ashe and I'm the owner of Trouvaille Weddings. I am from Leeds, England, and moved to Australia back in 2017 where I met my fiancé. We now have three beautiful little girls and a crazy dog. Launching my own business has been a dream of mine since I can remember, and planning weddings has been something that I have always wanted to do (I love to plan). Having worked in the industry for years I decided it was time to go out by myself and be my own boss.

Hello! I need some ideas please on how to keep the kids at our wedding entertained. Ages range from 3 to 14.

Depending on your venue, age of the kids and supervision provided you could include these for all kid ages:
* Bouncing castle
* Movie Theatre (projector and bean bags/cushions)
* Lawn Games - Jenga, connect 4, dominos, mini golf
Some venues have an obstacle course so that would be something worth looking into whilst looking for a venue if you do have a lot of kids coming who are old enough.
For the younger kids hiring babysitters is a really good idea. Have face paint stations up, colouring, puzzles, clown, balloon blowers, magicians. The list is honestly endless.

A hidden cost of weddings can be over time. Overtime for the planner or suppliers is a big thing that happens.
Especially if you are having fun you always want the DJ or band to do another song, this can add up.
Always check your contracts so you know how much an extra hour is going to cost you. Some can be rather pricey and you don't want to wake up in the mornings with overtime bills to pay.
I feel another hidden cost of weddings that doesn't get spoken about often is the marriage license. As much as it's not a big amount it is still a cost that some couples dont account for.
Is it necessary or traditional to buy your wedding suppliers thank you gifts?
I wasn't sure whether this is a tradition of some kind? If so, what kind of gift would be appropriate and how much?

It is most defiantly not a tradition. Most vendors/planners just prefer a good honest review. That is the perfect gift. Obviously no one is going to turn down a bottle of wine or a lovely thank you card but it is not expected nor is it needed.
