Is there anything we need to consider/do differently for a weekday wedding?
Hi there. We're considering a weekday wedding, maybe a Thursday or Sunday. Is there anything ] different or unexpected we'd need to consider about having a non-weekend wedding?
The Happiness Ring
Hi Bride.
Yes, there are some things to consider when having a weekday wedding:
Is your wedding a destination wedding?
Do the majority of your guests need to take time off work to travel? Are they anticipating a multi-day event? If your guests' calendars are already blocked off, then you’ve got more flexibility with the day of the week you choose.
In Regards to a Thursday or Sunday wedding, there are two main difference between the way to see the party happening:
Thursday and Friday nights are still considered 'party nights. People are at the end of their work week, or they can get the beginning of their work done, make the event, and still feel like they have more days to recover before they have to be back at work.
On the other hand with Sundays you’re running into everyone’s upcoming week, and your guests' mindset may not be in party mode.
Some pros are:
You can secure your drem vendor
You will save money
You can draw low your guest list
Some cons are:
Not everyone will be able to attend
The party might not deliver the same mood as wekeend wedding (work hard, play not too hard)
Save the date/invitation will need to be send in a longer notice.
I hope that helped.

Hey lovely! First—breathe. ??
You’re not alone, and it is 100% still possible to plan a beautiful wedding in four months!
Here’s what I recommend to get started quickly and stay on track:
? 1. Lock in the non-negotiables first
? 2. Create a simple planning timeline
Instead of trying to do everything at once, break it into weeks (e.g. this week = venue, next week = dress + photographer, etc.). Small steps = big progress.
? 3. Be willing to simplify where needed
Shorter guest list, fewer DIY projects, or using vendor packages can save time and stress.
? 4. Communicate with vendors honestly
Tell them your timeline—many are used to shorter turnarounds and can offer streamlined options!
? 5. Ask for help (friends, family… or a planner!)
A wedding planner or coordinator can help you fast-track decisions and avoid overwhelm, especially with a tighter timeline.
?? The good news? Weddings planned in shorter timeframes can actually be LESS stressful—because you make decisions quickly and go with your gut!
