OVERVIEW
Hello!
If you’re anything like me, you want your wedding to finish with an absolutely cracking party that leaves everyone exhausted with that post-party glow, and with me, DJ Andrew McClelland, that's exactly what you'll get.
From our first chat through to your last dance, you'll deal directly with me. No agency, no handovers, no surprises. Just one experienced DJ and MC who takes the time to understand exactly how you want your night to feel.
Whether you're an obsessive music lover with a carefully curated playlist or you'd rather leave it all in my hands, your music will be tailored to you and your guests. I don’t turn up with a fixed, predictable set. Instead, I read the room, adapt to the energy on the dance floor and keep the party building all night long.
You'll also get something your guests probably haven't seen before: a DJ who genuinely can't stop dancing. My enthusiasm behind the decks is infectious, and it's one of the reasons I'm known for filling dance floors and keeping the people there.
If you'd like an MC too, you're in safe hands. As an award-winning comedian, I'll keep everything running smoothly with warmth, humour and great energy, making announcements feel natural and helping the whole night flow effortlessly.
I've spent decades entertaining crowds around the world, performing alongside artists including Cher, Robbie Williams, Hot Dub Time Machine and Dorothy the Dinosaur, and at major festivals and events across Australia, the UK, New Zealand and Asia, as well as at my famous club-night ‘Mr. McClelland’s Finishing School.’ All that experience comes together to give you the confidence that your wedding is in experienced hands and your reception will end with the party that you deserve.
From The Beatles to Beyoncé and from Taylor Swift to the Smiths, every song is chosen to suit the moment and keep your guests smiling, singing and dancing until the very end.
“Had people up and dancing as soon as they entered the room. Every single one of our guests from age 1 to 87 loved him! Everyone asked where did we find him? Andrew made our night unforgettable, and he is also so kind and professional. Best and easiest wedding decision ever!!”

Everything you need for an unforgettable wedding party. No extra equipment to hire, no unnecessary stress, just a packed dance floor and a brilliant night.
You'll get:
A simple, budget-friendly option that still delivers the energy, fun and packed dance floor I'm known for.
You'll get:
Your MC sets the tone for the entire reception. You'll want someone who keeps everything running smoothly, makes your guests feel relaxed, and knows exactly when to bring the laughs, and when to let the big moments speak for themselves.
Unlike many DJs who also offer MCing, I've spent more than 20 years performing live as a professional comedian. Reading a room, putting people at ease and keeping the energy just right is what I've built my career doing.
Before your wedding, we'll meet to plan the flow of your reception, cover the formalities, and decide whether you'd like a few tailored laughs about your love story or a more polished, understated approach. However you'd like the night to feel, I'll make sure everything flows naturally while you simply enjoy the celebration.
My comedy career has taken me to the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Sydney Comedy Festival and Edinburgh Fringe, as well as TV appearances including Spicks and Specks and The Circle. Along the way I've received multiple industry awards, including the Melbourne International Comedy Festival's prestigious Piece of Wood Award.
Whether you're after a lively, laugh-filled reception or a warm, professional host who keeps everything running effortlessly, you'll be in experienced hands.
MCing services can be bundled with DJing for an additional fee.
For lovers of classic DJ culture, I can also bring the party to life on a full vinyl setup with "two turntables and a microphone!" to quote Beck's classic track Where it's At. (Although I'll also add a traditional two channel mixer as well.)
The truth is, the dance floor won't magically become better because the music is coming from records (apart from a little analogue warmth), but it will look fantastic. There’s something special about seeing a DJ mix with real vinyl, and it adds a beautiful old-school touch to your celebration.

FAQ
Heck yes! I can be as flexible on this as you like. I will always play whatever requests the couple decide they 'need' to hear, no matter what it is.
I'm also happy to take requests from your guests, although I will be somewhat selective about this as not all requests are great for the dance floor.
You are also very welcome to send me your own list of favourite songs and/or songs you've collected from your guests beforehand. A shortlist of 'must plays' and a long list of 'we would like to hear' goes a long way with me and I'll endeavour to make it exactly the dance floor you want on the evening, whilst retaining some control to make sure there aren't too many obscurities.
I am every part of my business. From initial communications to meet ups to all set up, DJing and MCing on the day you will only need to deal with me for the party element of the biggest night of your life. Other DJing services have employees that have no real investment in your day and play off a set list of 'classic wedding tracks' while scrolling through their phone in the corner. Instead, I will get to know you over time, including what you like and dislike and I will passionately pursue every path to making your wedding the perfect day.
I also have deep experience in weddings, going back 20 years, I know what makes a good dance floor and apart from top mixing skills, honed by experience and top line gear, I also have an ace up my sleeve. I absolutely love music and love the job. I dance passionately to the tracks I'm playing out of a sheer joy of it which gets everyone in the mood for a big night of fun. I'm the only DJ I'm aware of that does this, except for the international DJing sensation 'Hot Dub Time Machine' and he will readily tell you that it was watching me perform that taught him to dance as he DJs to get the crowd truly going.
With me, you'll get a unique, exciting party every time that will suit you and your partner excellently.
Heck yes!
I have a fine array of professional gear you can hire for additional cost.
Audio package:
If you're venue doesn't already have a sound system I have a set of JBL PRX 710s which at 133db will excellently fill all rooms, and all I will need from your venue is a table and a power point. This will come with all stands and additional wireless or corded mics should you like to use them. You are also welcome to hire or borrow you're own speakers and I'm happy to check on them before the wedding to make sure they're perfect for your venue.
Lighting package:
I have a lighting rig which includes moving heads, derbies, washes, a laser, and strobes. I can operate this myself to be as wild or subtle as you wish.
DJ booth:
I'm happy to set up on any old table at the venue, but if you'd like a professional looking DJ booth I have a professional booth with white translucent panels. I then set up a spinning disco light behind this so that the booth appears to be filled with spinning colour.
Hazer:
Many venues don't allow smoke effects, so check with them first, but if they do I can bring a hazer so that the disco lights are beautifully defined and bounce around the dance floor delightfully. I can also let out some big bursts of haze for any special moments you may wish such as your entrance or first dance.

Heck yes! Just have a think about how much youwant the msuic to be for you and how much for the guests as a whole, but if they are into the same music as you it's even easier. I've had great times playing ska, 80s indie, metal, country and hard techno for people who wanted it.
Live band or DJ?
Help I can't choose between live band or a dj which is best

Hello Bride!
Well this is a complex, but classic question.
If cost is a big factor for you I'd go for a DJ who would generally be cheaper than a band, as a band has many people involved whilst a DJ is usually just themselves. Bands also take up quite a bit of space in the venue, which can be a consideration, too.
However, bands definitely have a great 'vibe' as long as they are energetic performers with charismatic singers. DJs can replicate that vibe if they have performance skills, though. I like to think that because I really get in to the music, dance hard when I'm DJing for the floor and encourage the audience to join in, that I can replicate what a band brings to their performance whilst I'm DJing.
DJs can also play much longer than bands as the co-ordinated playing of many people is tiring and bands will take breaks, whilst DJ can play for many hours, including your background music sets, without one.
Lastly, DJs have almost any song you could wish for at your disposal, whilst bands are limited to the set songs that they have learned, although they definitely should be able to learn special songs for your night.
To sum up, I think bands are brilliant fun. When they're all playing together great there's an amazing vibe. But I think that A DJ can be just as good (depending on the DJ), and usually at a more appealing price point.
Cheers,
DJ Andrew McClelland
