Your wedding day has a lot going on. Music, speeches, suppliers, timelines, family, friends and all the little moments in between. My role is to make the entertainment side feel simple.
I’ve been DJing for more than 25 years and have spent much of my career around events, people and planning. I understand the bigger picture - not just the music, but the timing, the flow and the way all the moving parts need to work together.
You should never feel like you’re managing your DJ.
You should be enjoying your wedding.

I listen first.
Tell me what you love, what you definitely don’t want, the songs that mean something to you and how you want the day to feel.
Some couples send me detailed Spotify playlists. Others give me a few artists and ask me to help with the rest.
Both are completely fine. I don’t arrive with a standard wedding playlist. I mix live, read the room and move between eras, genres and styles depending on your guests and the energy of the night.
Your music gives me the direction.
Your guests help shape the journey.
Music is more than a playlist
I’m also a musician. I studied a Bachelor of Music and play saxophone, so music has always been a big part of my life beyond DJing. That background gives me a strong feel for rhythm, phrasing, timing and how music can change the mood of a room.
Sometimes the right song isn’t the biggest song.
It’s simply the right song for that moment.
Calm when you need it. Energy when it matters.
I’m naturally calm, grounded and organised, which is useful because weddings don’t always run exactly to schedule.
Speeches go long. Photos take extra time. Dinner runs late. Plans change.
That’s normal.
I work with your venue and other suppliers, adjust quietly and keep things moving without making you feel like something has gone wrong.
And when it’s time to lift the energy, I’m right there with you.
I watch the room, notice what people are responding to and know when to keep building, when to change direction and when to let a great song do its thing.
DJ, MC + Photo Booth
I offer wedding DJ, MC and Story & Moments Photo Booth services individually or bundled together. My MC style is warm, natural and confident - never over-the-top or about making myself the centre of attention. Combining your DJ, MC and Photo Booth can also make planning much easier, with one supplier coordinating the music, formalities, microphones, timing and guest entertainment.

I’m Helen, aka Jazzy Kappa... I’m a mum, yoga lover, sax player and lifelong music obsessive. I’m naturally calm and grounded, but also full of energy, warmth and a genuine love of bringing people together. I love good conversation, lots of laughter and that little moment when the perfect song lands and everyone feels it. After 25+ years DJing, I still get excited about discovering new music, learning what’s trending and creating moments people remember.

Yes! I have a QR code, and am happy for any of your guests to come and ask for their fave jam!
Absolutely. Once you book I share a music planning guide for ideas. We then organisation consultations and I work with you to understand your style, your must-plays, your do-not-plays and the overall feeling you want for the day. I can also help with ceremony music, entrances, first dance ideas, background music and dance floor tracks.
Yes, and I encourage it. Your playlist gives me a really good feel for your taste. I then build around that, read the room and make adjustments throughout the night so the music still feels natural and responsive.
They won’t be played if they go against your brief. Before the wedding we talk through any genres, artists or songs you definitely don’t want, and I keep those boundaries in mind all night.
It comes down to reading the room. I watch how guests respond, move between styles and eras, and know when to stay with something that’s working or change direction. I don’t rely on one fixed playlist from beginning to end.
Definitely. Weddings often bring together guests ranging from children through to grandparents. I enjoy finding that balance and creating moments where different generations can all enjoy the dance floor.
I’m very focused on the couple rather than making the DJ the centre of attention. I bring more than 25 years of DJ experience, but I still approach each wedding individually. I listen, stay flexible and work quietly in the background until it’s time to lift the energy.
Everything from classics through to current music, depending on your guests and your preferences. I regularly work across pop, disco, funk, R&B, house, rock, 80s, 90s, 2000s, throwbacks and contemporary dance music and everything in between
I DJ live. I mix, transition between tracks and make decisions in real time based on the room. Your planning gives me the direction, but the night itself determines how the music unfolds.
Yes. Music and timing are closely connected and I have over 25 years experience as an event planner so I’m happy to help with the flow of entrances, speeches, cake cutting, first dance, formalities and the transition into dancing and any other support you need.
Yes - I own Story & Moments Photobooth and offer open air photobooth services with DJ - this can make planning easier and give you one point of contact for your wedding reception entertainment
Yes. I carry public liability insurance and professional equipment insurance, and I’m happy to provide documentation to your venue if required. I also have a working with childrens check
Yes, I regularly work across Sydney and can travel further for weddings. Travel requirements are discussed upfront so there are no surprises.
That’s completely normal. Weddings rarely run exactly to the minute. I work closely with the venue, MC coordinator and other suppliers and adjust the music and formalities as needed without making the change feel obvious to your guests.
Yes as a musician myself, I’m very comfortable coordinating with singers, acoustic performers, saxophonists and other entertainment so transitions between live music and DJ sets feel smooth. I can also make some suggestions of musicians I partner with for weddings and other events.
A quick conversation usually tells you a lot. I’m always happy to have a phone chat so you can get a feel for how I work, ask questions and talk through how you want your wedding to feel and build rapport. I feel its very important for couples to feel comfortable with their DJ/MC and it has to be a right fit for all.
Yes. I can provide light MC support or a more involved MC service depending on what you need. My style is warm, polished and relaxed rather than making the night feel over-produced. Please have a look at my 3 packages for information on how I approach MC duties alongside of DJ.
I always come prepared with backup equipment for the key parts of your wedding entertainment. Technology can occasionally have a mind of its own, so I carry backup options for essential DJ and audio equipment and make sure everything is tested before your reception begins.
Having worked across weddings and events for many years, I know how important it is to be prepared and to handle any unexpected issue calmly and discreetly.
My aim is simple: you should never need to worry about the technical side of your wedding. I take care of that for you.
Yes. I offer combined wedding entertainment packages that can include DJ, MC and Photo Booth services, making things much simpler for couples who would prefer to work with one supplier.
Depending on the package you choose, I can help with your music, reception formalities, announcements, run sheet, microphones, dance floor entertainment and Photo Booth experience.
Having everything coordinated through one supplier also means less back-and-forth during planning and a more connected flow on the day.
You can book the services individually or bundle them together depending on what your wedding needs.
My focus is always on keeping things easy, personal and centred around the way you want your celebration to feel.
Over the past two years, I’ve personally delivered more than 250 events and have never had to cancel an event due to illness.
I take my commitments very seriously and do everything I can to make sure I am there for the couples and clients who have trusted me with their event.
That said, life can occasionally throw up something completely unexpected. In the very unlikely event that I was genuinely unable to attend, I’m part of a strong Sydney DJ community and have trusted professional contacts I can call on to help arrange suitable cover.
I also keep clear event notes, music preferences and run-sheet details so that, if backup was ever needed, there would be a proper handover rather than leaving you to start again.
The goal is simply to give you peace of mind that there is a contingency plan in place.
