Hello,

Gone are the days of having to wear your hair in a traditional bridal style.  The trends have changed and for the better. I think when chosing your hairstyle you need to think about what will make you feel and look like you. It's all about having something that truly brings out your character and natural beauty. You need to look at your hair type, length, colour and thickness when deciding on something. If you prefer your hair down then that is what you should try and work with. It's all about what you would like, not what everyone else wants for you.

You most certainly do not have to wear your hair up! Hair out can look just as elegant and formal when done correctly.

If you have a style in mind it's really important to communicate clearly  with your hairstylist. They will take into consideration your dress, face shape, neck length and hair length and then be able to create a hair out option that is flattering to all these factors.

Trials are important for this... they may need to pre-prepare hair pieces to thicken your hair or recommend a regime for your hair leading up to the event (particularly if you have soft hair that doesn't hold curl well and you want a Hollywood red carpet look).

book in a trial right before a dress fitting so you can see if they work together. If they don't, tell your stylist and take pictures so you can achieve what you want... if it's a COMPLETE miss then change your stylist.

Remember: family and friends will always have an opinion but it's yours that counts...

Good luck!

This is of course a very personal choice and this includes comfortabilty for you on you big day, I have found many brides do decided to wear their hair up for many reasons some such as, hair types and textures many not hold down styles well such as curls becoming too relaxed, heat or weather can cause styles to drop or create lose of style, once hair is up it does not need to be touched up or fixed again and also dress shape or style can determine choice of hair to be up or down. Although having hair down for many brides is a stunning feature and you need to decided on what makes you feel the best and most comfortable!

No, you do not have to wear your hair up on your wedding day. You decide what is best for you and what you are comfortable with. The main thing is to find a style that suits your face shape and something that will accentuate your dress.

Hello Jordyn,

You can do absolutely anything you like to do on your wedding day. There are pros and cons to both but it all depends what style of dress you are wearing, what your theme is and most importantly what suits you and what you like. Don't let anyone dictate to you what you have to have on your wedding day. It is your and your fiances day.

Good Luck
