Hi

Not at all, Everyone has different budgets. Try and arrange budgets and who will pay for what before the big day so there is no dissagrements on the big day. Despite all this it is your big day and you should look and feel your best.

Absolutely not!  It will be quite noticeable in the photographs, but if you only have one Bridesmaid it shouldn't be much of an issue.  When multiple Bridesmaids are all doing their own makeup it detracts from a polished finish to the Bridal party, but if you only have one and she has made that choice, you will stand out all the more - which is how it should be anyway!

Definitely not.  Its your day.  I have done many weddings where the bride is the only person having their makeup done.  Hair is different but makeup optional. x

Thank you for your question. This is a tricky one as I am aware there are so many costs involved in a wedding. However, it is really important to understand how essential professional makeup is on your wedding day. The photos taken at your wedding are your keepsake of one of the most special days of your life. Having  professional makeup for you and your bridesmaids means you will all feel fabulous on the day and your photos will look absolutely flawless. So I would recommend talking to your bridesmaids about how important this is to you and maybe you can organise to pay half for each of them or shout them if it will fit into your budget. Please let me know if you have any further questions!

Your wedding day, your rules.  If you want your bridesmaids to pay for their own makeup and they choose not to, that is their choice, but that doesn't in any way mean that you can't have your makeup done.   It's your wedding and you want to look great for your photos.   You and your hubby are the ONLY bosses in your wedding. No one else can dictate how you choose to plan it. :)

We have a blog about how to save money on your wedding and what you and your bridesmaids need to know if you decide to do your own makeups.

Ofcourse not. It's  your  big day and it's  important to look and feel radiant.  However if you bridesmaids don't feel comfortable,  then that is okay too.

That’s completely fine to only have the bride getting makeup done, the only thing I would point out is that the bridesmaids look may not pop as much in your photos, without having professional makeup application. It’s a personal preference, and it’s definitely not the first time I’ve heard of this question :) my advice would be to make sure so that the bridesmaids co-ordinate and compliment each other, that they do a similar application of makeup as each other, for example, me personally I wouldn’t have one bridesmaid doing a dramatic Smokey eye makeup look and then another bridesmaid with a super minimal look.  Just so that even if a professional makeup artist isn’t doing their makeup, they at least are styled similarly in terms of makeup. Hope that’s helpful :)

Hey, it's totally fine if you're the only person who wants to pay for makeup for yourself. Many brides pay for the entire bridal party but of course that is completely up to you to decide your budget. Just bear in mind some artists have a minimum call out fee.
